    Since its launch in November 2022, workers have increasingly used ChatGPT. Its ability to aid in productivity, problem-solving, and communication has made it a valuable tool in various professional settings. Last month, Resume Templates surveyed 1,666 U.S. employees who spend most or all of their workday on a computer to understand how prevalent ChatGPT use is among workers. We found 34% of employees use ChatGPT weekly. Study highlights: - 34% of workers use ChatGPT weekly in their jobs - 1 in 5 ChatGPT users save over 10 hours per week - 32% of workers using ChatGPT started a side hustle with time savings - 4 in 10 workers who use the tool say ChatGPT helped them secure a raise, and 30% report it aided a promotion - 65% of workers who use the tool say they aren’t worried ChatGPT will take their job More here: https://lnkd.in/ez-SvJGU

    Amid a changing job market, many companies have already laid off employees this year. In June, ResumeTemplates.com surveyed 934 U.S. business leaders to find out how many companies plan to have layoffs in the second half of 2024. Overall, 60% of business leaders say their company is likely to have layoffs in the second half of the year. This group of 553 total respondents completed the full survey. Study Highlights: -60% of business leaders say their company is likely to have layoffs in the second half of 2024 -Of companies planning to have layoffs, 44% anticipate laying off 30% or more of their staff -Top reasons for layoffs are needing to cut costs, poor employee performance -3 in 4 business leaders say employees with artificial intelligence (AI) skills are less likely to be laid off -1 in 10 companies provide less than 2 weeks of severance Full article: https://lnkd.in/gR3dGEhW

    Employees are increasingly entering the workplace with diverse gender identities and expressions that differ from traditional norms. However, preferred pronoun usage can be a contentious topic in many workplaces, as people have varying opinions on the matter. In June, ResumeTemplates.com surveyed 1,000 U.S. hiring managers to understand their attitude toward candidates listing their preferred pronouns on their resumes and the usage of preferred pronouns in the workplace.     To understand the prevalence of and reasons for cheating in the hiring process, in May, ResumeTemplates.com surveyed 1,759 recent job seekers (those who looked for a job in the past 2 years).     In May, ResumeTemplates.com surveyed 2,921 U.S.-based Generation Z (Gen Zers ages 18 to 27) who are currently looking or recently looked for a job. We found 22% used ChatGPT to create their resume or cover letter. This cohort took our full survey as we sought to understand the impact of young job seekers utilizing ChatGPT to create resumes and cover letters. Study highlights: - Only 22% of Gen Zers used ChatGPT to create their resume or cover letter - Users prompted ChatGPT to write their resume or cover letter with information about their skills, education, job description, work experience, and more - 77% made edits to what ChatGPT provided - More than half report getting responses from employers frequently; 52% had more success in job searches when using ChatGPT - 98% of Gen Z ChatGPT users secured an interview, and 90% received a job offer To view full results: https://lnkd.in/eMtYBUSY

    🚨 New Research Alert from ResumeTemplates.com! 🚨 In a surprising trend among today's job seekers, a significant number of Gen Zers are not going alone to their job interviews. Our latest study reveals that 26% of Gen Zers who have searched for a job in the past year have taken a parent to an interview.     Our recent research at ResumeTemplates's has been highlighted in an intriguing Forbes article about Gen Z’s job search strategies: “Gen Z Job Search Involves Parents to Find New Jobs 70% of the Time.” In the quest for every possible job search advantage, it turns out Gen Z isn’t going it alone. A staggering 70% of Gen Z job seekers are turning to their parents for help in finding employment. Moreover, 83% of those who landed full-time jobs attribute their success to parental guidance. Even more surprising, our study reveals that nearly 40% of Gen Zers had a parent accompany them to an in-person interview, with 30% reporting that their parent actually entered the interview room with them.
