Rise Against Hunger

Rise Against Hunger’s headquarters has called North Carolina home for over 25 years, and we, like so many of you, have been deeply saddened to see the extensive destruction caused by Hurricane Helene in our home state and throughout the southeastern United States. With many families losing loved ones, their homes and their businesses, there is a great need for basic necessities, including medicine. Rise Against Hunger is mobilizing to respond. Alongside Heart to Heart International, other local organizations and gifts-in-kind partners, we will be distributing hygiene kits and over-the-counter medications to families affected in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia.  We are also exploring opportunities to partner with more local organizations. We’re ringing the gong from coast to coast! A group of Hunger Champions from Warner Bros. Entertainment came together last week to package over 90,000 meals in New York and California — a reason to celebrate! These meals will ensure access to nutritious meals for people facing hunger across the globe. It’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for…🏆 The results are in for our fourth annual It Starts With a Meal™ Chef Showdown competition in honor of World Food Day! From October 7 to 11, six talented chefs vied for the Golden Whisk Award, creating dishes inspired by countries we serve worldwide. Hunger Champions like you voted for their favorite chef by liking, sharing and commenting on the chef videos, and we have the final results! 𝗗𝗿𝘂𝗺𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹, 𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲…🥁 We’re sending a huge congratulations to the following top three chefs who have claimed the coveted Golden Whisk Award, and the winners are: 🏆 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 goes to Chef JR Royol with his recipe for carabeef (water buffalo) with foraged greens. 🏆 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 goes to Chefs Nacho Aguirre and Susana Mijares with their recipe for Arroz Con Leche. 🏆 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗱 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 goes to Chef Nicole McLaughlin with her recipe for the Samosa Chaat.
