Our team at Sawhorse is thrilled to build on our work with Walmart to engage younger audiences by activating this rapidly-growing UGC platform. The NoBo drop includes ten virtual versions of pieces from the line’s Fall collection. And we brought the community in by collaborating with Zepeto creator, Xexi, to design limited edition items. The Webby’s are known as the Internet’s highest honor. And it was the Sawhorse team’s honor to host Webby’s GM Nick Borenstein for his Webby Talk series. He shared incredible insights about how “brain rot” is influencing online content and experiences. Nick’s best piece of advice: Embrace the absurd. As more people are chronically online, Nick pointed out that niche obsessions have taken center stage. From The Real Housewives to Moo Deng, today’s online content is often, well, absurd. It’s funny, weird, and comes and goes faster than ever before. As a result, “brain rot” is changing expectations of what people want to engage with online, including brand content. So, here are three ways Sawhorse believes marketers can embrace the absurd: 🤣 Have a sense of humor. Online audiences are craving things that are funny and playful. Brands have permission to lean into humor. We’ve seen this with successful campaigns like “Swishy Time” for our client TheraBreath. 💡Embrace AI responsibly. The lifespan of online trends is shorter than ever. AI tools can be used to quickly create highly-customized content that people love. We recently used the first commercial AI video creation tool for a campaign for Coca-Cola’s Cappy beverage to create videos customized to each consumer. 🪞Reflect your audiences. You might be wondering how to keep up with each new online obsession. Great insights are invaluable. But, surrounding yourself with your audiences is key. 🦸♂️ Calling all super fans! 🦸♀️ The Los Angeles Comic Con was last weekend and I was happy to join the party to rep Sawhorse Productions. In addition to celebrating general geek culture the highlights for me were: ✨ Star Wars - An impressive amount of dedicated fans dressed up. Sick costumes. Mandalorians, jedi and sith all day. 🚗 Kia - Kia was a main sponsor and had some creative wrapped cars on display. Pretty sick. 🎮 Milk Cup LAN - Best of all! 100 of the BEST female Fortnite players competed live in the first ever women's Pro Fortnite LAN. Congrats to Team Moxie for taking the win and the $250k prize. Shout-out to our friends at Moonrock for orchestrating the campaign. #UnrealFest 2024 Seattle last week was awesome. What an amazing three days of learning, networking and partying with some of the leading minds in the Epic Games, Fortnight, Unreal Engine and UGC gaming space. Sawhorse Productions was proud to attend and soak it all up. 🐢 Major takeaway: In addition to the general funtional and discovery improvements, the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Fortnight UEFN announcement was huge! Paramount is opening up the TMNT IP so UEFN builders can use official art assets to build and publicly publish their own official Turtles games. Monetization is split between creator/platform/IP holder. This is a massive step forward for brand-safe co-creation and super fandom! Big shout out to the inspiring minds in the UEFN space!
