    Filing for leave from work shouldn't be difficult. There was this one six-month period where six of my friends took leave – parental leave, caregiving leave, and medical leave. All of them struggled with the paperwork, spent hours on hold with state agencies, and even more time coordinating with their HR teams. The process was overwhelming and time consuming. Seeing my friends struggles inspired me to investigate how HR manages leave, and I found that the process is even more difficult for HR than it is for the employee. I knew there had to be a better way. That's when I began exploring the potential for software and AI to simplify the leave process. By ensuring that employers, employees, and managers have the right information at the right time, we could make employee leave stress-free for everyone. Now, 6 years later, Sparrow has saved our customers more than $100 million in payroll costs.
