Who’s responsible for managing #packaging waste? Increasingly, it's brand owners. Extended producer responsibility (EPR) laws in several U.S. states now require brand owners to fund post-consumer packaging collection, logistics, and recycling. Producers must register, report sales data, and pay fees, though eco-modulation opportunities can lower costs for sustainable packaging choices. Our latest article unpacks compliance deadlines, producer definitions, and how to stay ahead of evolving #regulations.

Black History Month is a time to celebrate the profound achievements, cultural heritage, and enduring contributions of the Black community. It’s an opportunity to honor trailblazers in politics, science, the arts, and social justice while deepening our understanding of their impact. This month invites us to reflect on history and actively strive for a future rooted in equity, understanding, and respect. This month, our Black Employee Resource Group (ERG) is running a companywide campaign to support GreenDesert.org, an organization that is committed to empowering self-sufficiency and reducing waste through off-grid solutions, a zero-waste lifestyle, and natural living education. If you are looking for a nonprofit organization to support in recognition of Black History Month, we encourage you to check out GreenDesert.org!

Bringing life to a critical waterway, our Tucson team joined over 80 volunteers to remove an incredible one ton of trash from the Santa Cruz River. Organized by the Sonoran Institute, this cleanup is part of a larger effort to restore the river’s health and future. It’s proof that when a community comes together, real change flows! 🌊 #SWCAGivesBack

Dust off your environmental dictionary with us! This month’s term to learn is #MitigationBanking. Mitigation banking is a system that restores, establishes, enhances, or preserves natural #habitats to offset environmental impacts from development. These “banks” generate credits that developers can purchase to meet regulatory requirements for habitat #conservation. This system ensures that progress and preservation go hand in hand. Stay tuned for the next eco term of the month! 🌿
