We recently celebrated the completion of the Newhouse Building Replacement. The team had the chance to experience The Miller Hull Partnership, LLP's central "Mixing Chamber" stair in action while admiring the hybrid DLT/steel system that enhances the building's warm and inviting interior. Designed to honor its 90-year history, the building blends neoclassical elements with a modern design, featuring senate suites, public meeting rooms, classrooms for civic education, and flexible spaces for collaboration and community use. A big thank you to the stakeholders and project team who came together to bring this project to life on the Washington State Capitol Campus! https://hubs.la/Q030DPfZ0 LO Team: Tony Mason, PE, SE, Blake Bergh, PE, SE, Cindy Liauw, PE, Julie Kerlin, Igor Tarasov Client: Washington State Department of Enterprise Services Architect: The Miller Hull Partnership, LLP Contractor: Hoffman Construction Company Civil Engineer: Reid Middleton MEP Engineer: PAE Landscape Architect: Murase Associates Envelope: 4EA Building Science Security: Hohbach-Lewin Structural and Civil Engineers Lighting Designer: Dark Light Design Signage: Mayer/Reed, Inc. Jeff Speert now serves as the Managing Principal of 4EA Building Science, overseeing the operations of 4EA’s three offices. His journey with the company began in 2008 when it operated as JRS Engineering, prior to its rebranding to 4EA. His expertise spans a diverse range of project types, reflecting his dedication to improving building performance across the industry. Clarissa Binkley, P.Eng., Office Director for 4EA’s Oakland, California office, has been promoted to Principal. Last week, we held our annual workshop, where we reviewed this year’s progress, celebrated milestones, and mapped our direction for 2025. It is one of the few times each year where we get people from all offices in one room together. We also enjoyed team-building activities and wrapped up the day with a holiday dinner to celebrate. 👏 Thanks to the 4EA team for making this another successful year. We’re excited for what’s ahead! #Team4EA #BuildingScience #AnnualWorkshop
