The Forum for Educational Leadership
Education Administration Programs
A space for highly effective education leaders to prepare for their pathway to the top role in a district, state or org.
About us
The Forum for Educational Leadership (The Forum) is a collective effort to create the space for highly effective and passionate educators to prepare for their pathway to the top roles in a state, district, or charter organization. A focused supplement to traditional educational leadership training and certification programs, The Forum employs a comprehensive development model to prepare cohorts of leaders for the academic, political, legal, and logistical rigors inherent to K-12 education. The Forum aims to build strong cohorts of future leaders by providing them with the most current and relevant training and ongoing support as they search for the top opportunities. The Forum is more than just leadership professional development - it is network building, a safe space for honesty and tough conversation, and a support system to help cohort members land the top job, well after they have completed the official programming. The Forum is the launch of a new kind of learning and networking opportunity for education leaders that harnesses the power of coaching and mentorship, and elevates aspiring leaders from all different backgrounds – many who have faced systemic barriers – to that top job. Participants in The Forum cohort will gain the critical skills unique to landing and sustaining the superintendency, and strengthen their professional network so that the best and brightest in our field can turn their bold intentions into a pathway for success for students.

We love to see this!
I am thrilled to announce that in January I will be joining Salem City School District as the next superintendent! Thank you to the members of the Salem City Board of Education in Salem for their confidence and trust in me. I recognize the tremendous responsibility you have placed in my hands and look forward to working closely with you in the weeks, months and years ahead to support the progress of all students. Salem City School District’s commitment to transforming schools based on the potential of each and every student is truly inspiring, and I am excited to lead this journey. The district’s diverse student body and vibrant school culture are just a few reasons why I feel so fortunate to take on this role. As both an educator and a mother of two sons, I understand the deep desire for all children to feel confident, nurtured, and valued in their learning environments. I believe every child deserves to belong in a space where they can thrive — and that’s exactly what I believe we can build in Salem. I am grateful for the support of my Women Leading Ed network–particularly the friendship, guidance, and support of Dr. Julia Rafal-Baer who has walked alongside me every step of this journey. It is a truly powerful thing to have an entire network of women standing with you through transitions, changes, challenges and triumphs professionally. Thank you to everyone who has shared in this journey with me. I am honored and ready to bring my passion and commitment to the Salem City School District, and I look forward to the incredible work ahead.

Today, on #WorldMentalHealthDay, we recognize the importance of prioritizing wellness—especially within Women Leading Ed. The pressures we face as leaders are real, and to endure, health and well-being must be just as real of a priority. Mental health is a deeply personal issue for many, including myself. We all know someone who has faced mental health challenges, and sometimes it feels hard to reach them in their toughest moments. Or, we may live with those challenges ourselves. But help exists, and together, we can play a role in breaking the stigma. That’s why we’re proud to partner with Headspace to provide free access to mental health supports for the entire Women Leading Ed network. Many thanks Hazel Health for making this partnership happen. We’re committed to creating spaces where mental health is a priority, not an afterthought. Together, we can lead with strength and resilience. 💚 #BreakTheStigma
