The Goddard School

The Goddard School of Brentwood, TN, is now open! This is the first location for co-owners Brian and Marie Hairston. The Hairstons are partnering with seasoned Goddard School franchisees Leisa Byars and Del McSpadden, who also own The Goddard School of Hendersonville, The Goddard School of Gallatin and The Goddard School of Murfreesboro, with another school in development at the Nashville Yards campus in downtown Nashville. “We are thrilled to bring the Goddard experience to Brentwood and the surrounding communities where there is such a need for high-quality early childhood education,” said Marie. “Our mission is to offer peace of mind for working parents by ensuring their children are in a safe, nurturing environment where they can develop socially, emotionally and academically.”

The Goddard School of Alexandria (Old Town), VA, is now open! This is the second Goddard School in Alexandria and the fourth for co-owners Akhil and Madhu Govil, who also own The Goddard School of Ashburn, The Goddard School of Leesburg and The Goddard School of Waldorf. “Our goal is to build a strong and balanced foundation of social, emotional, cognitive and physical skills for each of the students trusted in our care,” said Akhil. “Our program fosters each child’s innate curiosity and creativity in a safe, nurturing environment, setting them up for success in school and in life.”

Summer is a great time for outdoor play. There are many fun things to do that help support sensory integration, language development and fine and gross motor skills. Of course, there’s also all that fresh air and sunshine, which is the best part! Lee Scott, chairperson of our Educational Advisory Board, shares these fun activities to enjoy in the summer sun.

Congratulations to owner Ramneek Kooner. “As a parent who values the power of early childhood education, my goal is to deliver a program that provides the highest quality care and education in a safe and nurturing environment,” said Ramneek. “Our program will help children develop foundational social, emotional and academic skills that will set them up for success in school and in life.” 

We are excited to announce the 2024 Goddard School Circle of Excellence and President’s Club members! These prestigious accolades honor the top-performing Goddard Schools from across the country. To be selected for Circle of Excellence, schools must meet criteria that measure excellence in performance, education, family experience and brand stewardship. To earn President’s Club designation, schools must be selected for the Circle of Excellence for continuous years, consistently demonstrating the highest standards of educational and operational excellence in early childhood education year-after-year. 

The earliest years of children's lives lay the foundation for their social and emotional well-being, setting the stage for success in school and beyond. For parents, caregivers and educators, it's crucial to prioritize and nurture the mental health of children in their care. In this article, Dr. Lauren Loquasto, our chief academic officer, and Dr. Kyle Pruett, a member of our Educational Advisory Board, share insight and actionable guidance to support children's mental well-being.

The pandemic introduced many challenges for families, and one notable concern is the increase in “late talkers” among children. With disruptions to regular routines, limited social interactions and increased screen time, many young children have experienced delays in language development.  Kara Brumley, co-owner of The Goddard Schools of Hendersonville and Gallatin, TN, joined Nashville’s WKRN News 2 to discuss the concern and share actionable guidance for parents to help develop their children’s language skills. 

It’s always fun when Goddard grads return to visit their school. The Goddard School of Bel Air, MD, recently received a special visit from 13 former students who are graduating high school this year.
