The Korea Society is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, 501(c)(3) organization with individual and corporate members that is dedicated solely to the promotion of greater awareness, understanding and cooperation between the people of the United States and Korea. In pursuit of its mission, the Society arranges programs that facilitate discussion, exchanges and research on topics of vital interest to both countries in the areas of public policy, business, education, intercultural relations and the arts. Our global coalition is proud to organize an event at The Korea Society during UN General Assembly High-Level Week with the Governments of the United States, South Korea, and Luxembourg to call for action to address the impact of North Korea’s human rights abuses on families worldwide. The panel will feature remarks from United States Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell, South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul, and Luxembourg Deputy Prime Minister Xavier Bettel. The panel will be moderated by Ambassador Julie Turner, U.S. Special Envoy for North Korean Human Rights Issues. September 25: Join us this Wednesday for a unique and special event highlighting the profound impact of North Korea's human rights abuses, with a focus on divided families. Featuring introductory remarks from ROK Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul and keynote remarks from United States Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell, and closing remarks from Deputy Prime Minister of Luxembourg Xavier Bettel.
