Together with American Express, we launched a new grant program to support small businesses impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. Our President Michael Carney announced this on Fox Business referencing the recovery data, "It is a devastating situation, especially in places that were hit by both storms... in lots of places, revenue and sales are approaching pre-crisis levels, but there are a few places that are really lagging." He was joined by American Express Chief Corporate Affairs Officer Jennifer Skyler who explained, "Supporting businesses in times of need is part of our DNA." Applications are open for $5 million in funding, which includes $5,000 grants for 1,000 small businesses. Plus, on #SmallBizSat, American Express will also donate $1 for each Card Member purchase at participating small businesses to expand its grant commitment. “Know your value proposition.” That was a key takeaway at an event the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Russell Reynolds Associates recently hosted for women leaders in Washington across the association, business, and nonprofit sectors. The panelists encouraged women to think big and then execute those big ideas while sharing real-world examples of times they took risks that led to new chapters in their careers. Thank you to all the exceptional attendees and speakers for making this event a success! https://lnkd.in/erZdVVwt

Last night, we hosted the Women Taking the Lead event in collaboration with Russell Reynolds Associates, bringing together women leaders from across Washington's association, business, government, and nonprofit sectors. The evening was filled with inspiring discussions on embracing discomfort to drive growth, leveraging empathy as a superpower in the workplace, and thinking big to impact an industry, not just a company. Congratulations to Elizabeth Baker Keffer for hosting such a successful and inspiring event, and thank you to all the speakers and attendees for their invaluable contributions.
I was delighted to host a stellar panel of women executives leading significant trade associations and global corporate affairs at the Chamber's "Women Taking the Lead" program Wednesday evening, in partnership with Stephanie Tomasso, Managing Director of Russell Reynolds Associates. Joining us were Cathy Burns, CEO of International Fresh Produce Association; Cari Almo Gallman, EVP Corporate Affairs of Bristol Myers Squibb; Michelle Korsmo, President & CEO of the National Restaurant Association; and Katherine Lugar, EVP Corporate Affairs of Hilton. Thank you, ladies, for sharing your experiences and advice with rising leaders! Such energy in the room, and so much appreciation for you!
