Congratulations to our own Katie Wilberding Cross (center), who was honored at the Great Education Colorado luncheon last week for her ongoing work to help transform schools across Colorado. "I am deeply honored by this recognition and grateful for the opportunity to be part of this important work. It truly reflects the collective dedication and passion of the Colorado Community Schools Steering Committee, and I couldn’t be prouder of the progress we’ve made together so far," she said. Alongside community partners including Aurora Public Schools and the Colorado Department of Education, Katie co-leads the coalition helping schools become hubs of community activity where everyone works together to strengthen student learning and development. Our hearts are with the residents in Florida, Georgia and North Carolina as they continue to process the damage caused by Hurricane Helene. If you would like to support recovery efforts, please make a gift to the United Way Hurricane Helene Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund: bit.ly/3XK0BsA Mile High United Way's own Rudy Morales is currently assisting the relief efforts, answering calls through our 211 Help Center to connect affected families to vital resources and aid. We will continue to partner with the State of Colorado and United Ways across the country to support ongoing disaster relief efforts.
