📣 July was an action-packed month for USA Pulses. Here's a snapshot of what we were up to: ➡ #IFTFirst in Chicago: Ewa Pietrysiak, Madison Jacobson, Deepa Deshmukh MPH, RDN, CDE, BC-ADM, Eric Thalken, and STEVE FEINBERG proudly represented USA Pulses. Our booth was busy with visitors eager to learn about pulses and pulse ingredients. We co-hosted a fabulous reception with the U.S. Dry Bean Council, featuring delicious pulse-based dishes. Special thanks to Chelsea Didinger and Dee Richmond for organizing! It was great to catch up with our member companies, AGT Food and Ingredients Inc., Ardent Mills, Emsland Group, Inland Empire Foods, Lentiful, NuCicer, Mid America Food Sales, and Montana Pure Protein, and PURIS! 🌱Montana Trip: Yukiko Naruoka wrapped up a productive visit to Montana, engaging with researchers and stakeholders from Montana State University-Bozeman, the Montana Seed Growers Association, and the Montana State Department of Agriculture. Discussions focused on pulse #quality testing, licensing and commercialization processes, and insights from statewide yield trials. This visit has strengthened our collaborations and will drive future innovations in pulse research and development. 🌍 Harvest Tours: We hosted two harvest tours for buyers from Southeast Asia and India. The Southeast Asia team, led by Bryce Hooper, started their journey at IFT First in Chicago before visiting growers and processors in the PNW region. Meanwhile, the India team, along with Tami Stubbs, visited pulse producers and processors in Montana, North Dakota, and Minnesota. Participants enjoyed one-on-one meetings with suppliers, toured processing facilities, and experienced American entertainment and shopping. 📊 #ASN2024 Annual Meeting: The Coalition for the Advancement of Pulses (CAP) supported a poster session at the American Society of Nutrition 2024 Annual Meeting in Chicago. Yanni Papanikolaou presented the study "Greater Pulse Consumption in Adults is Associated with Improved Diet Quality, Favorable Weight-Related Outcomes, and Reduced Risk of Elevated Blood Pressure."
