Governor Spencer Cox hosted a luncheon with leaders from all sectors of the life sciences industry to learn how the state can better support the life sciences industry. The luncheon was held at the Governor's mansion on Wednesday, May 29. Companies participating included Merit Medical, ATL Technology, Recursion Pharma, Seek Labs, Edwards Lifesciences, ARUP Labs, bioMerieux, Alucent Biomedical and Halia Therapeutics. Also present were representatives from the Governor's Office of Economic Opportunity, Sen. Ann Millner, Rep. Jefferson Moss, BioHive and BioUtah. It was a productive session with discussion about bolstering workforce, internships and apprenticeship programs, better efforts to publicize the positive impact of the life sciences industry in Utah, supporting innovation, and retention and recruitment of companies and personnel.
