Today marked a significant milestone as our inaugural reentry entrepreneurship training cohort confidently presented their innovative startup ideas to several of our board members. After eight weeks of rigorous and focused training, these individuals showcased their creative visions and their relentless determination to move beyond their pasts and embrace ambitious new futures. Their journey is a testament to the power of resilience and the human spirit to dream big, regardless of the obstacles faced. As we continue to support each student in preparing to launch their businesses, I am genuinely excited to see how their hard work and dedication will transform into real-world success. Huge shout out to the good people at Vault89 and our very own Amber R Miller to make our first cohort one to remember!

We have three values at Vault89 that guide our work. And the first of those values is Be Honest. Dishonesty is a difficult sin to avoid because it is easy to cheat if you think no one will notice. However, dishonesty impacts more than just the victim, it affects the very core of the person being dishonest. It makes them untrustworthy and untrusting. It eventually makes them unable to know themselves or relate to others. And it will destroy culture from the inside out. Don’t take dishonesty lightly. How can we ever get to an honest solution if we are not honest about the problem. Be Honest.

I had the pleasure of visiting our reentry entrepreneurship class at Vault89 where I met many current and future entrepreneurs. One of them, David Holmes, shared his business card, and I was truly impressed by his ambition to launch his new venture: A Sharp Solutions. David’s new business will specialize in: - Application Development - Website Development - Graphic Design - Database Development - Marketing - Company Rebranding David’s journey is a powerful reminder that anyone is capable of doing anything. It’s a reminder of the importance of always leaning into your dreams to reimagine your future. And finally, it’s a reminder that everyone deserves the opportunity to pursue their dreams and make a positive impact. I have no doubt that David's skills and dedication will lead to great success in his business endeavors. Let’s support David and his new company by checking out his website at [www.asharpsolutions.com](https://lnkd.in/gyhaAXDW). Together, we can uplift those who are making a fresh start and remind everyone that with hard work and perseverance, anything is possible! #SecondChances #Entrepreneurship #ASharpSolutions #Vault89 #PioneerHumanServices

We are grateful to be serving alongside Safeway and Feeding Feasible Feasts through the Seattle Public Utilities' food rescue grant! Our project aims to tackle food waste and improve equitable access by addressing inefficiencies in the current food redistribution system. By streamlining the process and expanding access, we hope to ensure surplus food reaches those who need it most.

Exciting news! Seattle is investing $200,000 to three local businesses and organizations to improve the distribution of edible, unsold food to feed people while reducing waste. Congrats to Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, Vault89 Strategies and Cascade Bicycle Club! SPU's inaugural food rescue grant supports innovative solutions that will test methods for redistributing unsold food from grocery stores, hospitals, and farmers markets. Selected from twelve applicants, these initiatives will test new methods of collecting and redistributing unsold from various partners, helping to address food waste, food insecurity, and reduce carbon emissions. Today we celebrated it being a year since we opened the Family First Community Center doors, and this journey has been a humbling experience. The community has affirmed our reason for existing and now count over 8,000 unique members. We collaborate with well over 150 organizations to provide free and low-cost unique activations. All while our partner, HealthPoint (CHC) and their interconnected clinic, serves the community’s medical, dental and behavioral health needs.. for all ages. But the most incredible part of all of this to me is represented in the individuals that make up the entire FFCC team. These leaders, volunteers and servants are real human beings with a real, genuine spirit and desire to be in service to other human beings. It is a privilege to witness and I am just so incredibly grateful. To everyone that helped make this possible and continue to make this possible.. We thank you 🙏🏾 ❤️

Congrats to the Family First Community Center and the fantastic team for celebrating their first anniversary! FFCC is located in the Benson Hill/Cascade area of Renton and is the first of its kind here in Washington State. They offer free programs to members of all ages and also have an onsite health clinic operated by HealthPoint offering medical, dental, and behavioral health services. I spent weekends with my cousins down this in this area of Renton off of 111th and I’m energized by the opportunities FFCC is bringing to young people in the area. Family First is out here doing the work differently, building an incredible culture, and exploring new ways of partnering with community-based organizations to uplift this community. Cheers to year one and all that’s to come!
