This company recognizes the value of developing its own talent, with referrals of qualified job seekers from the WIOA Title I program. They're leveraging federal funds to support on-the-job training of their workers, allowing career changers with an aptitude for manufacturing to gain new skills and grow in a new vocational path. This partnership is supported by WIOA Title I Career Navigator, Denise Hutton, CWE, VWDP. This week, Virginia's Deputy Secretary of Labor for Workforce Development Nicole Overley and Deputy Commissioner of External Affairs for Virginia Works Kathy Byron toured Aerofin to learn more about this successful effort.
