Harris-Walz proposes increased investment and expanded eligibility for the Child Care Development Block Grant (CCDBG), while Trump previously backed a historic increase in this program. ▪️ Career & Technical Education: Both see value here. Harris-Walz aims to increase CTE funding and connect learning to careers. Trump boosted CTE in 2018, and his 2024 platform may echo this support. Beyond these, the differences are stark. Harris-Walz focuses on federal support for mental health services in schools, expanding school-based Medicaid coverage, and promoting community school programs that offer wraparound services, with an intentional focus on addressing inequities. They advocate for teacher residency programs, apprenticeship models, and raising teacher salaries.
