After 16 incredible years of dedication and service, we are both proud and a bit sad to announce the retirement of Retail Sales Supervisor, Grace Bowden. Grace has been an unparalleled asset to our team. Her contributions as a peer mentor, innovative supervisor, and outstanding teammate have left an lasting mark on our company culture and success. Her leadership and commitment have not only driven sales, but also fostered a supportive and growth-oriented environment for all her colleagues. As she embarks on this new chapter of her life, we wish her all the joy and relaxation retirement can offer. But before she leaves, we wanted to take a moment to share some of her wisdom and insights that have benefited us all. Q: What are some of your favorite memories from your time with the Wonderful Sales? A: There are so many . . . watching the success and growth of the merchandisers on my team, working with Katie Brown in New Orleans while getting ready for PMA, and also working with Angela Shanahan doing Hy-Vee surveys – what a privilege! Having Tom Forsythe as a mentor and friend might top the list. Q: What are some of the key milestones or achievements in your career? A: Helping to hire and train some of the best merchandisers I have ever been around. They make me look good. Before we had Silver Hearts, I won the Retail Integrity Award in 2010, being promoted to Supervisor and winning the Silver Heart one year. Q: What advice would you give someone just starting their career in the industry? A: Be Flexible! Be prepared to adapt to changes and pivot when necessary – sometimes daily. Cultivate strong relationships with colleagues, clients, and other vendors. Networking is key in this industry, and having a solid network can open opportunities for collaboration and growth. Don't be afraid to think outside the box and experiment with different merchandising ideas. Creativity can set you apart and help you find innovative solutions to challenges. Don't hesitate to ask for feedback from supervisors, peers, and clients. Constructive feedback can help you identify areas for improvement and grow professionally. Q: What are you looking forward to most in retirement? A: Freedom and Flexibility - Enjoying the freedom to pursue hobbies, like gardening and travel. I look forward to spending more time with loved ones without the constraints of a full-time job schedule. One of my goals is to become a Master Gardener and they are all about helping the community through all types of garden projects. Another goal is to prioritize my health and well-being by staying active, eating well, and dedicating time to fitness activities. On this International Women's Day, we stand united to recognize and honor the incredible contributions of women worldwide. At Wonderful Sales, we take great pride in fostering an inclusive and empowering environment for our talented women professionals. Over a decade ago, a women's resource group called The Women of Wonderful Sales was launched by Vice President of Sales, Kat Hultstrand. Since its inception, we have hosted sessions to develop skill sets, discussed important issues, celebrated promotions, and made it a point to stay connected. We recently sat down and spoke with Kat about what it's been like to lead this group for Wonderful Sales. Here's what she had to say: "As women leaders, our mission should be to educate, empower, and uplift the women around us. Being in a leadership position provides us with a microphone and the ability to amplify the needs of our women colleagues. However, we need to be humble enough to research what those “needs” truly are. My belief is empowered women, empower others, and I am so grateful that I have been able to fuel this passion through Women of Wonderful." It's with great enthusiasm that we turn the spotlight onto one of our exceptional team members, Erin Wagner, in our latest Employee Spotlight! At Wonderful Sales, we believe that our greatest strength lies in the collective brilliance of our dedicated workforce. Today, we are thrilled to showcase a shining star whose passion, expertise, and commitment have not only elevated her own career but have also contributed significantly to our shared success. We recently sat down with Erin to learn more about her and what makes her so successful. Here’s what she had to say: Q: Can you provide a brief introduction about yourself? A: I have been with Wonderful Sales for nearly 16 years, currently as a Regional Sales Manager in Southern California. I enjoy spending time with my husband and kids on our hobby farm where we have horses, goats, and chickens. Q: What key experiences or roles have shaped your professional journey? A: I began my career with Wonderful Sales as the first retail merchandising supervisor and helped develop and train the retail merchandisers as we launched the program nationwide. This experience helped me build a foundation of mentoring and training that I’ve incorporated throughout my career. Understanding people and the different ways they communicate, learn, and work has allowed me to build strong professional relationships with both my customers and peers. It has been a privilege to be a part of Wonderful Sales through its enormous growth since 2008. Q: What advice would you give to someone starting in your field? A: Get involved and learn all you can not just about your company and products but also about your customers, the competition, and the industry. Being knowledgeable will add value to all your interactions both internally and externally. Never stop goal-setting and constantly pursue opportunities. Q: What is a project or accomplishment that you are particularly proud of? A: I have collaborated with customers on numerous creative promotional programs, and it is always exciting to see the work come to life in stores. I am particularly proud when this work results in Wonderful product displays dominating the produce department. Q: Do you have any specific projects or initiatives you are excited about in the future? A: Currently, I am excited about the Super Bowl and seeing all the hard work that’s been put in over the last few weeks be on display throughout Southern CA! I am also looking forward to a first-time-ever cross-promotional display and ad with FIJI and Wonderful Pistachios coming soon to a major California retailer.
