🌎💫 Celebrating Seattle’s Inclusive Workforce! The Office of Immigrant & Refugee Affairs (OIRA) brought together partners to spotlight Seattle’s progress toward building a workforce that embraces and uplifts immigrants, refugees, and migrants. Together, we celebrated digital equity achievements through OIRA’s collaboration with Seattle Information Technology, the impactful Ready to Work (RTW) program, and insights from the new Regional Partnerships for Immigrant Integration and Workforce Development in the City of Seattle and King County report. Seattle’s immigrant and refugee communities are central to our region’s cultural and economic growth, contributing richly to innovation and vibrancy. Yet, they continue to face unique barriers to workforce participation, from language and credentialing to legal complexities. The OIRA's recent report is dedicated to identifying and addressing these challenges head-on with strategies for deeper inclusion and equitable opportunity. The Workforce Development Council of Seattle-King County is excited to support these recommendations and strengthen our shared efforts to improve workforce conditions and economic stability for all our residents—immigrant and native-born alike. ✅🔗 Read the full report at https://lnkd.in/gJs3AU6k #InclusiveWorkforce #WorkforceEquity #WorkforceDevelopment #Seattle

✨ Great representation of SEIU 775 Benefits Group and our partners at SEIU 775 and the Workforce Development Council of Seattle-King County in elevating our labor-management partnership's role in transforming the caregiving profession at the SHIFT Toward an Equitable Future Conference! #SHIFT2024
Our SHIFT Toward an Equitable Future conference lineup! 🙌 It was powerful to recently spotlight our worker-centered labor-management partnership as a model for workforce development, alongside Sylvia Liang, Mallory Hagel and Marie Kurose. The event, hosted by the National Fund for Workforce Solutions, provided an important platform to elevate the history of care workers as low paid and marginalized, and how our labor-management partnership addressing these historical inequities by shaping in-demand jobs to become high-quality jobs. #SHIFT2024 #LaborManagementPartnerships #WorkforceDevelopment
