David, an Army Infantryman from Southern California, faced homelessness shortly after leaving the military. Returning home with hopes of reconnecting with his family, he was met with rejection and had to seek help from the community to stay housed. Despite exhausting resources from various organizations, David was once again on the brink of homelessness. Thankfully, the Volunteers of America stepped in, offering him long-term housing. During this transition, the Working Wardrobes VetNet Program provided David with a 7-day hotel stay, ensuring a smooth move into his new home. #workingwardrobes #orangecounty #southerncalifornia #nonprofitorganization #ocnonprofit #nonprofit

Assemblywoman Laurie Davies recently toured our Working Wardrobes Career Success Center. Despite her prior familiarity with the organization, she was amazed by how much more she learned during her visit. Since 1990, Working Wardrobes has reached over 125,000 individuals preparing for their journeys to achieving gainful employment. Because it's in the name, it is easy to think that the organization only provides professional clothing to prepare people for interviews, but that is only ONE way they help. We provide individualized employment plans, one-on-one coaching, assessments, upskilling workshops and certification programs, resume updates and mock interviews, and a slew of resources to connect community members who are unemployed and underemployed to over 185 other agencies providing unique services to our community. --- Assemblywoman Laurie Davies represents the 74th Assembly District, which includes the communities of southern Orange County, including Dana Point, Laguna Niguel, San Clemente, and San Juan Capistrano plus the communities of northern San Diego County, including Camp Pendleton, Oceanside and Vista. #workingwardrobes #orangecounty #southerncalifornia #nonprofitorganization #ocnonprofit #nonprofit

“The Hanger Boutique manager, Nancy Luxon, may not wear a cape, but to me, she’s a superhero. My firstborn was about to graduate college. I had the hotel booked. Restaurant reservations confirmed. Established the out-of-office protocols. But what about the family photo ops? I desperately needed a fresh outfit or two that could accommodate the crazy temperatures up in Davis, CA. But there were a few hurdles: 1. I greatly dislike shopping. 2. Didn’t want to overspend on things that wouldn’t be worn again as I was mid-fitness-regime. 3. ‘Disposable,’ cheap clothing that ends up in a landfill is not an option. Gimme quality that I can either keep for years or donate when I'm done. There’s a reason why I’m neither an actress nor a poker player. I felt awful when Nancy saw the look on my face after she presented a few ensembles. They were soooooo not anything I’d ever pick out but I promised to try them on anyway. Lo and behold, they were beyond perfect. She styled high-end, well-constructed brands into outfits for the upcoming festivities - as well as a few fabulous extras. I left the store with two complete outfits and a number of separates. The packing list was complete, didn’t break the bank, AND, equally as important, contributed to a most worthy cause.” Socially responsible, The Hanger proceeds directly support Working Wardrobes’ programs while upcycling supports the environment. Meet Adrianna, our passionate Wardrobe Services Specialist. She excels in managing relationships with clients, volunteers, vendors, and donors, recruiting and training volunteers, organizing events, and maintaining daily schedules. Her efforts help drive the success of Working Wardrobes. Six years ago, Adrianna faced a challenging time when a nine-month illness affected her health, finances, and family. During this period, she joined Working Wardrobes as a temporary staff member and was inspired by the supportive culture and the diverse individuals she encountered. This experience motivated her to become a permanent part of the team and contribute to a greater cause. "My mission is to spread love and hope to everyone who is hurting. I truly believe that God is a God of second chances. If He was able to bless me with a job and change my life, He can also change yours!" Adrianna believes that everyone who walks through our doors is on the brink of their own breakthrough. She is grateful to help them realize their potential and is committed to serving with dedication and compassion. --- Working Wardrobes just got named 2024 Best Places to Work by the OC Business Journal!
