🌍 All for Health, Health for All — the World Health Summit 2024 is happening from October 13-15 in Berlin! 🎉 With this year’s theme “Building Trust for a Healthier World,” the summit has brought together over 3,500 participants and 380+ speakers from across the globe. We had the honor of attending as guest participants and were thrilled to contribute to the roundtable "Unlocking AI’s Potential in Healthcare: A Public-Private Collaborative Journey" led by Jens Dommel, Head of Healthcare EMEA by Amazon Web Services (AWS). Everyone at the summit is increasingly aware that cultivating skilled talent is critical to the future of healthcare. It was incredible to observe the support shown by EU member states, together pitching $1 billion to World Health Organization to continue their vital work. As Bill Gates said during the event: “Global challenges demand global solutions.” This act of solidarity highlights the global commitment to advancing healthcare for all. • "In 2024, an additional 2,200 people are expected to be recruited in the HealthTech sector. 🔑 This key figure, published in the 21st edition of Panorama France Healhtech by France Biotech, seems positive and encouraging for the French HealthTech sector. However, according to this report, as well as our own report on current skills gaps in the European health sector, the HealthTech sector remains far too unattractive for future recruits, making recruitment a complex process. In fact, there are still no healthcare companies in the latest ranking of the world's most attractive employers. From these observations arises a key question: What are the main recruitment difficulties? - Finding suitable profiles - Competition over pay in a tight market - Few existing profiles for the position sought - A gap between well-rooted hard skills and less well-established soft skills. Fortunately, this situation is not hopeless ⬇️ Our report "Addressing skills needs in the European health sector" in collaboration with the European Investment Fund (EIF), is a meticulous work of form and content that has been implemented to propose solutions and strategies to remedy this gap: hiring, outsourcing, training and upskilling, retaining talents, mentoring. We also organise online Career Fairs regularly to connect talent with recruiters in one-to-one meetings. The next one is coming up soon. 💡Read our report to learn more: https://lnkd.in/eHQPSPTy 💡Read the France biotech report: https://lnkd.in/eS9dV9wh #HealthTech #SkillsGap

Workforce diversity in the healthcare sector: A strategic necessity! 🌐 👩💼 The WorkInHealth Foundation and the European Investment Fund (EIF) report, "Addressing skills needs in the European health sector", highlights the importance of gender diversity in healthtech as a key competitive advantage. Although progress has been made, much remains to be done: nearly a quarter of venture capitalists in the healthtech sector report no female representation at partner level in their own firms! 🏢 Additionally, a multifaceted approach is needed to address these skill gaps. Collaboration between academia, government, and corporate entities is key to enhancing workforce training. > Diversity is not just a buzzword but a strategic necessity. Diverse backgrounds and perspectives drive creativity, innovation, effective communication, and overall success. 💡 Read the report to learn more: https://lnkd.in/e_qCZmZQ #Diversity #HealthTech #SkillsGap EY EIT Health Urška Bux, MBA Cyril CHEDHOMME
