We love the openness of the panelists and of the audience who made time in their visit to Silicon Valley to reflect on the confluence of social impact, biotechnology, and entrepreneurship. Thanks to Robin Ann McIntosh, Ari Tuchman, Kim K., and Sarah Gerber Howard for coming together for this important conversation exploring "Foundation Funding: How to Assess and Access."
Recently, we hosted a dynamic panel session for a cohort of European biotech founders on a “tour” of #SiliconValley. In partnership with the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA), the panel explored “Foundation Funding: How to Assess and Access” with industry innovators: Robin Ann McIntosh with Workit Health Ari Tuchman with Quantifind, Kim K. with Bay Bridge Ventures, moderated by Sarah Gerber Howard. The conversation provided a deeper understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities that lie at the intersection of #socialimpact, #biotechnology, and #entrepreneurship. Workit Health and RCORP are combatting opioid use disorder in rural Ohio with expanded access to telehealth treatment and grant-funded care in Ashland, Hancock, and Crawford Counties. “The burden of drug use and overdose is particularly high in rural communities. Our research has shown that Workit Health’s innovative, virtual-first program effectively reaches people suffering from OUD who have limited options for care within their own area. This award will allow us to partner with local organizations to bring whole-person, evidence-based care to more communities in Ohio.” ~ M. Justin Coffey, MD, Workit’s Chief Medical Officer. This project provides cost-free care to uninsured and underinsured residents of Ashland, Hancock, and Crawford Counties, and builds partnerships with local organizations. https://lnkd.in/guhTSjE6 #opioids #opioidusedisorder #telehealth #MOUD #ohio This project is supported by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) under grant number HB1RH49881.
