Did you happen to know about The EmployAbility Service? This employment and recruitment service assists individuals with disabilities, injuries, or illnesses in securing and maintaining employment. It provides various support, including a job coach who collaborates with job seekers and employers. The EmployAbility scheme is open to anyone with a long-term illness or disability, regardless of age or educational background. The interview process is stressful for most of us! But if you have a disability, it can seem like you’re trying to roll a boulder up a hill. 👉 You’re tired of feeling like a diversity quota interviewee when you have so many unique skills to offer in the workplace. April 13 is Auslan (Australian Sign Language) Day. In Australia, almost 20,000 people use Auslan to communicate. JobAccess provides financial assistance to employers to access Auslan interpreting services for Deaf people throughout the employment process. This includes funding for: ✅job interviews and other activities, such as site visits and completion of tests. ✅work-related activities for employees who are Deaf or hard of hearing. ✅co-workers to receive training (Certificate II in Auslan) to communicate with Deaf employees.
