What does it mean to be an impact investor? How does it work in practice? Some of the questions I often get from people. Very proud to share some insights again through our annual impact report. Happy reading and we are open to share experiences and exchange best practices. The industry, especially in these times, need investors to keep pushing for positive impact.

Last week, I had the pleasure of attending Climate Salad's Climate Tech Festival and it was awesome to join a group of founders, investors and supporters committed to building a more sustainable future! 🥗 Some of my key takeaways: ⚡ Australia does have world-leading climate technologies! We're seeing growth in sectors where Australia has relative advantage in (e.g. agriculture and renewables), presenting an opportunity for us to emerge as a superpower in these domains. 🌎 Decisive government action in support of climate action is creating strong tailwinds. Sophie Purdom from Sightline Climate (CTVC) explained America's '$3.5T climate triple whammy'—substantial public funding in America that is paving the way for new climate technologies. Australia needs to do better. 🔐 Venture capital alone cannot be the sole source of funding for climate technologies. We require more flexible forms of capital to fill the funding gap that exists for capital-intensive climate startups building hardware.
