A key component of the strength and effectiveness of the United States’ nuclear deterrence is the exceptionality and professionalism of those tasked with overseeing it: the men and women, both civilian and active duty, of the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC). AFNWC is currently looking for mid-level engineers to fill roles critical to national security at three bases across the nation: Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, Utah; Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Eglin Air Force Base in Fort Walton, Florida. AFCS is proud to have among its ranks three civilian Airmen who’ve been named “Outstanding Airmen of the Year” by the U.S. Department of the Air Force. This is no small achievement, considering AFCS is 170,000 civilians strong. This year’s recipients of the prestigious “Civilian of the Year” are Nicholas Waller, 319th Security Forces Squadron, Grand Forks AFB, North Dakota; Raymond Pelletier, 325th Fighter Wing, Tyndall AFB, Florida; and William Miller, 33rd Cyberspace Operations Squadron, JBSA-Lackland, Texas. Congratulations to all three for not just rising to the occasion but going above and beyond.
