Did you know? MASH, or metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis, is a serious, progressive, metabolic disease affecting the liver, which can be fatal if not managed properly. 29th of February is #RareDiseaseDay, a reminder of the 300 million patients worldwide living with a rare disease. We are also amid both Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP) and Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD)/Low Vision Awareness Month, recognizing the serious unmet needs of patients worldwide living with retinal disease. X-Linked Retinitis Pigmentosa (XLRP), for example, is a #RareDisease and a severe form of #RP that typically starts in adolescence and results in permanent blindness by middle age, with no available treatment options. Additionally, Geographic atrophy (GA) is a late-stage and severe form of #AMD that typically impacts those who are 60 years of age and older causing progressive blindness with current treatment options requiring burdensome monthly or bimonthly intraocular injections.
