Something you should know about #hiv! Undetectable = Untransmittable. What does it mean and how well is it understood by our societies today? Undetectable equals Untransmittable (#u=u) means that under effective HIV therapy, the virus cannot be sexually transmitted. A recent multi-country HIV survey across #austria, #greece and #switzerland explored public awareness, understanding and acceptance of U=U. The results clearly showed a limited recognition of U=U in all three countries. This lack of knowledge is often accompanied by HIV-associated stigma, social distancing, and misperceptions about HIV transmission. The survey underlines the remaining importance of effective awareness campaigns and education to spread the U=U message, and helps foster a more informed and supportive public stance towards people living with HIV. 🤔 Did you know that 86% of the 39 million people living with HIV in 2022 were aware of their HIV status? We can end HIV by raising awareness, as people living with HIV can achieve undetectable and hence untransmittable viral loads with effective treatment. Fast and accurate HIV viral load testing informs patients of their status and allows for optimized antiretroviral treatment. We are committed to helping healthcare professionals provide rapid and precise HIV load testing. Learn more 👉 https://lnkd.in/gWRBSugS #HIV #AIDS #aidsawareness #WorldAIDSday

🔬🌍 Knowledge is power when it comes to HIV, and I am proud to be a Subject Matter Expert dedicating my life to raising awareness on this global health issue. Did you know that misconceptions and myths surrounding HIV still exist today? By educating ourselves and others, we can combat stigma, promote prevention, and support those living with HIV. 💡 As a subject matter expert, I've learned that understanding the facts is crucial. HIV is transmitted through certain bodily fluids, such as blood, semen, vaginal fluids, and breast milk. It cannot be transmitted through casual contact, sharing utensils, or mosquito bites. By sharing these facts, we can dispel fears and reduce discrimination. 🌟 Another crucial aspect of being a subject matter expert is advocating for safe sex practices and the use of preventive measures, such as condoms and regular testing. Promoting awareness about PrEP and PEP can help individuals protect themselves and their partners. 🤝 By offering a non-judgmental space for open conversations, we can help reduce the isolation and emotional burden that may accompany an HIV diagnosis.🙌 Together, let's break the silence and be a force for change! 💪 Join me on this journey of enlightenment and understanding. Share this post and let's start a conversation that can change lives! Together, we can make a difference in the fight against HIV. 🌍❤️ #HIVAwareness #SubjectMatterExpert #EndStigma #FightHIV #KnowledgeIsPower #hivstopswithme

To reach the UNAIDS goal of 95% of people knowing their #HIV status by 2030, the global community must improve access to HIV testing for all, especially members of key populations that are disproportionately affected by HIV. Learn more about barriers, facilitators, and strategies to enhance uptake of HIV self-testing among men who have sex with men in this recently published article co-authored by JSI’s Donald Udah: https://lnkd.in/eTQV-gYq #PutPeopleFirst #HIVtesting #HIVprevention #KeyPopulations

National Southern HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NSHAD) - August 20th Today, we come together to recognize National Southern HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, a time to shine a light on the impact of HIV/AIDS in the Southern United States. The South accounts for over half of all new HIV diagnoses in the U.S., and it's vital that we address the unique challenges faced by our communities. * Why Focus on the South? Higher rates of HIV/AIDS compared to other regions Limited access to healthcare in rural areas Stigma and discrimination that prevent many from seeking help * What Can You Do? Get Tested: Know your status and encourage others to do the same. Educate: Learn about HIV prevention and treatment options. Support: Stand with those affected by HIV/AIDS and combat stigma. *Spread the Word: Use your voice to raise awareness and share resources. Together, we can make a difference in our communities and move closer to an HIV-free generation. #SHAAD #EndHIV #SouthernHIVAIDSAwareness #GetTested #HIVAwareness #EndTheStigma #AOCFortWorth Let's work together for a healthier future!

Our white paper for addressing critical barriers for HIV care and actionable strategies by using rapid diagnostics is out! Have a good read! 🤩
Approaches to managing #HIV have come leaps and bounds over the past few years and goals such as HIV #cure or #elimination are now more attainable than ever. Achieving such aims requires a precise and targeted strategy across various disciplines. To help define and prioritise these approaches, #VistaHealth collaborated with Abbott in developing a white paper entitled "Strengthening HIV Care and Management: APAC’S Path to Progress”. The white paper outlines critical barriers and proposes actionable strategies to strengthen HIV care and improve patient outcomes via innovative diagnostic tests. Developing a comprehensive multi-stakeholder approach in the region is critical to achieving this and ensuring the scalability and accessibility of testing technologies. We at Vista Health are dedicated to bridging the last-mile gaps of the UNAIDS 95-95-95 targets and helping to achieve the ultimate goal of ending the AIDS epidemic by 2030. Quoting UNAIDS, “If there is one lesson that the COVID-19 pandemic has taught us, it is that pandemics can’t be ended anywhere until they are ended everywhere”. Read the newly published white paper here: https://bit.ly/43xGZdP
