One of the main challenge of Floating Offshore Wind farms will be the maintenance and its associated costs. The remote location of offshore wind farms presents complexity in O&M with regular inspections more challenging due to difficulty in deploying technicians to carry out on-site inspections. This article is an interesting approach of this key maintenance issue. From 31 to 12: Thanks to repowering the number of wind turbines in a wind farm can be reduced significantly while capacities increase. Currently, we are supporting our customer Alterric, one of the largest onshore green energy producers in Central Europe, to repower Bertkow-Baben wind farm (Germany) with the delivery and installation of 12 new E-160 EP5 – meaning an increase in power output of 100,000 megawatt hours.
