Salford City Council and Onward Homes agree a deal to build 100 new homes 🤩 As someone with a background in facilities management, I’ve seen a lot of housing projects, but this one really stands out. In order to combat the housing crisis in Salford, Onward Homes and Salford Council have joined forces to create sustainable, community-focused spaces that people will be proud to call home. It’s a modern, forward-thinking approach that ticks all the right boxes. In today’s world, energy-efficient designs aren’t just a bonus, they’re a necessity. This development is not just looking at the here and now; it is considering accessibility, convenience, and how these homes will fit into the broader community. What’s also fantastic is how this project is set to rejuvenate the local area. Turning underutilised spaces into vibrant residential communities that can be used by all. They're not just building houses – they’re building communities. I’m genuinely excited to see the positive impact this will have. #housing #manchester #council #affordablehousing

The Rise of Pilgrim Street: Why It Will Become Newcastle’s No.1 Location Pilgrim Street is undergoing a remarkable transformation. National and local developers are making significant progress in reimagining much of the area, paving the way for it to become Newcastle’s most vibrant destination. When we acquired our building on Pilgrim Street, the redevelopment of the area was just beginning. We saw the potential early, driven by a clear vision of what this street could become. Fast forward a few years, and the first wave of projects is nearing completion, with others set to finish in the coming years. Pilgrim Street is evolving into a unique blend of history and innovation, offering something truly distinct. On one side, you’ll find the timeless beauty of Newcastle’s historic, stone-built facades. On the other, striking new developments are reshaping the city. This blend of old and new breathes fresh life into the area, delivering the vibrant atmosphere that Newcastle has been craving. As we begin planning the redevelopment of our own Grade II listed building on Pilgrim Street, we feel fortunate to be part of this journey. The street is only just starting to realize its potential, and with time on our side, we’re excited to see how it grows into a cornerstone of Newcastle’s future. I’d love to hear anyone’s thoughts on Pilgrim Street and any other growing areas in Newcastle. #newcastle #pilgrimstreet #redevelopment #heritagebuildings

Great article by Kate Pix at Kajima Europe and it’s a great message about valuing these very special towns we already have as regeneration targets. Communities local connection to their town is significant and if we can use these towns as a growth opportunity we alleviate pressure on cities but we also respect the people who live there. We are always from the town we are from…not the local city, the town. In many northern towns young people move to larger towns and the cities often just to live, for employment and for accommodation. Towns also have very little property movement. So without new projects they become stuck with ageing communities. New projects like retirement living projects create opportunities for old people to move out of larger family homes releasing this housing stock for families and so creating a housing churn much needed to keep our towns vibrant. The Senior Housing & Healthcare Association is championing these economic with their members. Kate also makes a great point about retail and the inclusion of the retail high streets and shopping centre projects in this regeneration project. Revo - Retail. Property. Community. The community of this keen to see regeneration of shopping places and this is a message we have championed. https://lnkd.in/ekeY8xpT shows that retail physical shopping is making ground against online. Finally as chair of the Revo Educational Trust we champion learning and development in the sector. With Solent University we have continued to develop “The Revo Diploma” educating the next generation of leaders in our sector from all kinds of shopping places. Maybe we need ask Kate Pix to do a masterclass next year! https://lnkd.in/ehfaAnkP

***VILLAGE HIGH STREET REGENERATION*** Zesta Planning Ltd are delighted to confirm that planning permission has been secured for the redevelopment of Heath Buildings in the heart of #Oxshott #Surrey High Street. The development includes the provision of 9no. apartments, 4no. high quality retail units and associated parking and storage areas. The existing building is in a very poor state of repair and operating beyond its intended lifespan, rendering the existing apartments largely uninhabitable and the existing retail spaces below modern standards. The proposals have been designed with the local community in mind and will build on the independent businesses already thriving in the village, with the proposed modern retail units being occupied by various independent outlets not currently available. Furthermore, the high quality residential apartments proposed will add to the vitality of this part of the High Street, and will provide meaningful additional dwellings towards Elmbridge Borough Council's housing supply. These proposals are two years in the making and follow substantial levels of public engagement throughout to ensure that the right scheme for this locality was secured. Ultimately this engagement resulted in the support of all ward Councillors, the local village residents group, the majority of Oxshott residents and finally the Planning Committee itself. #Regeneration #HighStreet #Planning #Development #MixedUse #Retail #Commercial #Residential #Apartments #Community #Independent

Dean Clough housing plans move forward - site was originally constructed between 1840 and 1870🏃➡️ Plans to create homes on the mixed-use Dean Clough site in Halifax are progressing so that a development framework and masterplan will soon be drawn up. 🏠 If planning approval is secured, around a hundred one-, two- and three-bed apartments are likely to be built in part of the site’s main car park as well as the conversion of an existing former mill building.🛌 Dean Clough is a collection of 16 mill buildings stretching over half a mile to accommodate 750,000 sq ft of workspace. 📏 They were originally constructed between 1840 and 1870 by the Crossley family, who founded Crossley Carpets in 1822 and soon became the largest carpet manufacturer in the world.💪 Since acquiring the historic site more than 40 years ago, Dean Clough Limited has invested tens of millions to fund the regeneration project. It is now a hub for 150 businesses employing around 3,000 people. 👍 Historic business hub regenerated for the people of Yorkshire! Great to see new housing options in the plans for this mixed use development!🏘️ #Construction #Yorkshire #Regeneration
