𝐁𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐋𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 ❌ ‘Halal is Just About Food’ ✅ Halal certainly extends beyond food to encompass various industries such as cosmetics, modest fashion, pharmaceuticals, tourism and finance. Ergo, it’s a Trillion-dollar industry. ❌ ‘Halal Certification is Too Complex and Expensive’ ✅ There are simplified certification processes and initiatives (i.e. government support and industry collaborations halalah PH ) aimed at making halal certification more accessible & affordable, especially for SMEs. ❌ ‘Halal is Only Relevant to Muslim Consumers’ ✅ Data shows a growing demand for halal products and services among non-Muslim consumers, driven by factors such as health, hygiene, and ethical considerations. The halal industry's expansion into sectors such as food, beverages, and tourism has been evident in recent years, supported by Malaysia's Halal Development Corporation Bhd (HDC). HDC forecasts a 15% increase in halal product exports this year, building on the robust performance of 2022, where exports reached RM59 billion, a notable 63% surge from 2021. Investments in halal industrial areas have been substantial, totaling RM16.4 billion by the end of 2023, with an additional RM600 million expected this year. These figures underscore the global appeal of Malaysian halal products, emphasizing their quality, cleanliness, and authenticity. In anticipation of this growth, Qew Group Berhad enters the halal industry by establishing a Digital Asean Smart Halal Industrial Park in Bukit Kayu Hitam, Kedah. The hidden cost of skipping halal certification: Spoiler: It’s more than just missed revenue. Here’s the real deal: 1. Access to a $2 TRILLION Market Halal certification unlocks access to over 2 billion consumers globally, spanning food, cosmetics, pharma, and beyond. Without it, you’re missing more than sales—you’re losing relevance in Muslim-majority markets. 2. Competitive Advantage in Sensitive Markets Halal-certified competitors have a stronger foothold in key regions like Southeast Asia and the Middle East. Non-certified products? They’re often overlooked by distributors and retailers. 3. B2B Opportunities You’re Overlooking Think about missed government contracts, supplier partnerships, and distribution deals. Halal certification is no longer optional—it’s the key to sealing these opportunities. 4.
