Director, Project Management at DB Engineering & Consulting | Rail Enthusiast | Trainfluencer | AI Strategist
#milestoneachieved #100k Congratulations to my very own company DB Engineering & Consulting for reaching 100k followers. In influencer terms "the first step is done". In absolute numbers however it clearly sends a message that our company is of interest not just to its own employees (5k+), but also to the market, our customers, associated companies as well as "colleagues to be" (talents that like to follow our company's progress). Especially in comparison to three of our main competitors it shows that our social media presence is staggering. With 10k, 3k and a mere 1k three other railway engineering companies in Germany clearly lack the reach that DB E&C has gathered over the past years. Once again, in influencer terms, "let's hit the million". As such, to all my acquaintances and connections: If you not only like to see the post from Stuttgart and Karlsruhe, but also other achievements of DB E&C, go ahead and click that follow button. Or, as they like to say in the web "like and subscribe". Btw, we are still looking for new team members across the regions (of Germany) and worldwide (Bukarest and India). #JobsinRail
We have hit a major milestone: Our LinkedIn community has grown to incredible 100,000 followers! 🌟 This achievement comes at a particularly dynamic time for DB Engineering & Consulting, marked by significant events that have shaped our path forward. Recently, we have welcomed Andrea Bertallot as our new CEO, following Niko Warbanoff after almost 14 years at the helm of the company. Simultaneously, we find ourselves at the forefront of change with the ongoing overhaul of the German rail network, underscoring our commitment to innovation and sustainability. As we celebrate this milestone of reaching 100,000 followers, we also look forward to the exciting journey ahead. With your continued support and commitment, we are confident that the best is yet to come for DB Engineering & Consulting. Here’s to the next chapter of innovation, growth and success! Thank you to each and every one of you for being part of our community and staying connected with us! Let’s keep moving forward together! 🚆

We are proud to be one of the Polish institutions that has a long-standing scientific cooperation with the UK, holding a strategic partnership with University's College London UCL Institute of Ophthalmology, and collaborating with Moorfields Eye Hospital, London to advance Eye Health. The interdisciplinary partnership between UCL, the Institute of Physical Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences, and ICTER (International Centre for Translational Eye Research) is a testament to the growing momentum and bilateral opportunities, including startup options, identified in the "PUSH - Polish-UK Science Horizons" report by the British Embassy Warsaw, Polonium Foundation and Science & Innovation network (SIN): "Polish-UK relations in terms of collaboration on science and technology evolved over the years. While at the beginning, the UK was seen more as a mentor and adviser to the Polish emerging markets, now Poland is seen as a partner in some strategic areas. (...) Poland distinguishes itself by presenting not only a highly skilled and economically robust workforce but also a dynamic startup ecosystem. It stands as a frontrunner in the field of IT and is increasingly recognised as an emerging market in cutting-edge biotech sectors, including bioinformatics and advanced therapies. These domains serve to enrich and foster collaborations between Poland and the UK." #ICTER_PL #IPC_PAS #STEM #StrategicPartnership #Poland #UK

🙂 👋 It was a pleasure to meet you in person at drupa, thank you very much for your visit Vera Lebedeva. Oppboga Bruk AB is a reliable, long-standing partner whose quality is best suited to POLAR labelling machines. The Oppboga Nova works particularly well with our autonomous labelling system with the DC12 Plus, for example. We therefore recommend using the carton separators from Oppboga for automatic cut-to-stack labelling systems. We are looking forward to further joint projects. The Benefits: - Optimized smoothness Specifically designed as a label divider to avoid unnecessary production interruptions. - Extended Tool Life Engineered to be gentle on die-cutting tools, resulting in longer intervals between resharpening and preventing rapid tool damage. - Dark coloured shade Ideally suited as a divider for light coloured labels. - Sustainability at its core Oppboga Nova is manufactured and sourced from responsibly managed forests in Scandinavia. This is how innovation can look like: A joint vision by Jan D'hooge, Joost Lumens, Kristin Sarah McLeod and myself. Public funding from #horizon2020 #mariecurie to industrial PhDs. A fantastic team of PhD students working as a team across industry, academia and hospitals. Amazing execution by talents such as Cristiana Tiago. Congratulations! And the outcome: new AI methods that will move the boundries of what is possible within cardiology AI development.
On September 6th, I successfully defended my thesis “Deep Generative Models Applied to 2D and 3D Echocardiography: Image Generation and Analysis”, for the PhD degree, at the University of Oslo. Thank you to all that, one way or another, supported me and motivated my work during these 3 years. To Kristin Sarah McLeod, Jurica Šprem, Sten Roar Snare, Eigil Samset, Universitetet i Oslo (UiO), GE Vingmed Ultrasound, and to everyone in the MARCIUS Project. It has been a (very) long journey but, after all, very rewarding too.

That's a wrap! Thank you to everyone who came to learn more about Oshen last Friday at the IET in London😊. Here's the most popular questions we were asked, and our answers: --- Q: How do we know what sea state the micro-vessels can last in? A: We've tested in up to 25kt constant winds, 40kt gusts, and sea states just beyond the 'small craft warning'⛵ that indicates our 25ft chase boat should no longer be at sea (On the rougher end of 'Moderate' for people familiar with the shipping forecast). When we have a larger fleet later this year we look forward to taking bigger risks with individual micro-vessels and sending them on more challenging missions! --- Q: Have we considered magnetic couplers? A: Yes, especially as it could preserve the mast mechanism if the sail experienced shock loads in harsh conditions (e.g from a breaking wave 🌊). However, our main design ethos is simplicity, and we're going with a simpler design at present that maintains high spring stiffness🪢in the mast while ensuring it's not brittle. --- Q: What other applications could the micro-vessels have? A: In the talk, we covered our most immediate work on Biodiversity monitoring with a focus on protected species observations with DEFRA🐬(more details on this later this month!). This is a big R&D focus for us at the moment, so expect a lot of information about using our micro-vessels for cetacean monitoring in coming months. However, there are other applications of our micro-vessel technology: MetOcean data for more accurate forecasts⛈️, visual observations for Maritime Domain Awareness, low-power oceanographic sensors for scientific research 🧪... if you'd to know more, get in touch!
