Today is World Children’s Day. As our society is starting to reflect on children’s rights in the digital world (including the right to be safe), it is also an opportunity to reflect on how much of a priority they are (should be) in our social and economic policies.
🌍 World Children’s Day 2024 🗣️ Every year, World Children's Day is celebrated on 20th November, marking the date that the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child was adopted. This year, we commemorate the 35th anniversary of the UN Convention, a pivotal moment when governments around the world, including Australia, agreed on 54 essential rights that every child under 18 should have to ensure they live a safe, healthy, and happy life. On this important day, ICMEC Australia stands alongside UNICEF Australia in encouraging children of all ages to make their voices heard on the issues that matter most to them. Together, let's amplify their voices and advocate for a world where every child’s rights are respected and protected. Bringing the power of education and equality to children, by leveraging connectivity technology and digital skill building tools is one of the most exciting and meaningful work I can think of. As we celebrate #WorldChildrenDay, the question asked in the video is an important one - "What would you change, for your children"? https://lnkd.in/eMmyAAs6 #DigitalDivide

Today we're celebrating World Children’s Day! On November 20th, the world unites to honor and celebrate the rights of children everywhere. This day stands as a reminder that children are not only the future but deserve respect, protection, and opportunities today. The day symbolizes our collective commitment to building a better world for future generations. For the fifth consecutive year, Glaston as part of Ahlström Collective Impact joins forces with UNICEF Finland to raise awareness about Child Rights in the context of the World Children’s Day celebrations. Childhood is a pivotal phase in life, establishing the foundation for lifelong success by nurturing cognitive abilities, emotional wellness, social competence, and robust physical and mental health. In 2024, the focus is on education and the gift of reading. We support Suomen UNICEF – UNICEF Finland’s work for children's rights, especially every child’s right to learn. A spelling mistake is just one of the consequences of a child not receiving sufficient support in their education at school, not going to school, or not getting quality education. ❗ What could be more important to focus on today: November 20th than this? ❗ World Children’s Day is not just a global observance—it’s a call to action for businesses and leaders everywhere to prioritize children’s rights and lead with responsibility. ⚡ Child rights = Human rights. They are non-negotiable and universal, yet too often overlooked or violated, both in communities and in the policies of public and private sectors. 💥 As leaders, it’s time for us to take action. In business, we know that true leadership isn’t just about profit—it’s about shaping a future that is inclusive, equitable, and sustainable. By listening to children, we gain the insights that can drive meaningful, long-term change across industries. Their ideas for a better world can help guide corporate social responsibility, inclusive leadership, and sustainable growth. This World Children’s Day, UNICEF, let’s move from words to action. Let’s integrate children’s voices into our strategies and decisions—because the future of business and leadership depends on it. #WorldChildrensDay #LeadershipForChange #CorporateResponsibility #SustainableGrowth #FutureLeadership #WorldChildrensDay #ChildRights #FutureVoices

For 100 years, child rights have existed as guidelines for states, corporates, organizations and individuals to act by respecting them. Save the Children continues its tiredless work - as the rights of the child are more vulnerable than ever in today's conflict-torn world. #SaveTheChildren #ChildRights Save the Children International
It has been 100 years since it was accepted that children hold their own rights ❤️ We’re proud that our founder, Eglantyne Jebb, was the first person to articulate this. She shared her vision with the world when she drafted the historic Geneva Declaration of the Rights of the Child, which was endorsed by world leaders in 1924. Despite progress over the past 100 years, today, children’s rights are being eroded and neglected. Children worldwide are facing hunger, poverty, inequality, and discrimination. But children are not giving up. They are fighting to make the world a fairer and safer place for generations to come. “We dream of a world where our rights are not just words on paper but a lived reality. We’re talking about our right to a healthy environment, education, and a chance to thrive.” Xia, 14, the Philippines We have been helping children realise their rights for over 100 years. We will not stop until they are all respected, supported, and protected worldwide💪 Learn more about how we continue to fight for children rights➡ https://lnkd.in/esxSwbMH #100YearsChildRights #ChildRights

🌍 Celebrating Universal Children’s Day 2024 🌍 🌱 This November 20th, we recognise Universal Children’s Day, a global day dedicated to advocating for the rights and well-being of every child. Established by the United Nations in 1954, it commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of the Rights of the Child and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, both groundbreaking milestones that continue to shape the global commitment to children's rights. ✨ This year, UNICEF is calling on all communities to reaffirm their dedication to upholding these rights by addressing challenges such as education, health, and safety that impact millions of children globally. As the world grapples with issues like increasing inequality, climate change, and access to essential services, we are reminded of our collective responsibility to create a world where every child can thrive, free from poverty, violence, and discrimination. 📈 At Development Analytics, we work to advance children’s well-being by providing data-driven insights and policy recommendations that target key issues affecting children’s development. Our projects focus on areas such as child poverty, early childhood development and addressing education inequality, helping governments and organizations design effective interventions that improve outcomes for vulnerable children worldwide. By supporting evidence-based policies, we aim to create meaningful and lasting change for future generations. 🌟 Join us in advocating for creating equal opportunities for all children. Let’s make this Universal Children’s Day a catalyst for positive change in the lives of children across the globe. 🔗 To learn more about our work related to Children’s Well-Being and Development, please visit: https://lnkd.in/dcUUMx7Q #UniversalChildrensDay #ForEveryChild #UNICEF #ChildrensRights Photo Credit: UNICEF/UN0837176/Raphael Pouget
