Asante Gold Chirano Limited (AGCL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with community leaders to establish crop compensation rates for the year 2024.
Ing. Stephen Asante Yamoah, General Manager, joined Nana Kwasi Nwunu II, Chairman of the Community Consultative Committee, to sign the agreement.
The MOU will ensure that farmers receive fair and timely compensation for crops affected by mining activities.
Ing. Stephen Asante Yamoah said the MOU demonstrated AGCL's commitment to responsible mining practices and sustainable community development.
Nana Kwasi Nwuni II noted that the agreement will safeguard local livelihoods and promote harmony between the mine and local communities.
The agreement was formalized during the second quarter meeting of the Community Consultative Committee, a body that represents the interests of catchment communities.
