Modi Muzzles Up! Why India’s Leaders Won’t Blast Biden’s ‘Xenophobic’ Slur? – OpEd Eurasia Review, June 30, 2024 By Debashis Chakrabarti In an era where diplomatic exchanges are increasingly conducted in the public eye, the conspicuous silence from India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar in response to US President Joe Biden’s recent “xenophobic” remark about India has raised international eyebrows. This silence is not merely a diplomatic choice; it’s a strategic and calculated move shaped by a complex web of political, economic, and social factors. What drives this silence, and what does it reveal about India’s current political landscape? #biden#xenophobic#modi#jaishankar#humanrights

“If I have to describe the India-US relationship in a single word, I will say we are natural allies. I think the relationship between India and US, and the two countries themselves, have played an enormously important role and continue to play an important role in strengthening democratic values all over the world.”- Prime Minister Narendra Modi India is the world’s largest democracy and the United States is the world’s oldest. The relations between both of them have seen constant ups and down. These relations have not just been a result of bilateral arrangements and conditions but also because of various multilateral factors. In this paper I have tried to highlight not only the evolving relations between both countries over these years but also most importantly the recent areas of cooperation such as #climatechange,#cleanenergy ,#defence,#indopacific, etc. I have also provided some recommendations on how both countries can improve and increase their cooperation in these areas. Please do give them a read. A special thanks to Ritwik Mehta and Sahil Jindal for their constant guidance and help. https://lnkd.in/dK8n6Sn4 #indiausrelations #internationalrelations #indopacific

Given the intense level of emotion, people on all sides will likely object to this article as biased in one direction or the other. But I found it reasonably objective in explaining why the emotions are so high and why Mr. Trudeau was held in such low esteem in India generally, even before this recent situation. The implications are clear for Canada if Mr. Trudeau was wrong in his extraordinary public accusation and the negative (albeit short term I suspect) impact on India's global soft power if he was right. Today, the winners are CCP china, who wants to undercut and isolate India after the quite successful G20 and the moves by India to assume leadership of the Global South, Russia, who wants to pull India back from its increasingly closer relationship with the West, and Pakistan, who has been supporting a Sikh independent state since the 1970s to weaken India. Thwarting the objectives of those three state actors requires a fairly rapid and conciliatory resolution. https://lnkd.in/g88BydXH

Found this quite interesting, article by Tanmay Saukur
Globalization has slowed into "Slowbalization" due to wars, recessions, and other disruptions. In response, India advocates for "Re-globalization" emphasizing that alongside the Prime Minister, the Foreign Minister of India has an even more crucial role to play. Know why I emphasized in brief that the Foreign Minister has a more crucial role to play.
