Two tender opportunities that might appeal to SME's / consultants in my network. Sharing here as I often wonder how people get to find out about these great bits of work if they're not subscribed to government tender portals.... For inclusion to truly be felt in an organisation, one-off training simply isn’t enough — instead, it must become a culture that is embedded into everything the organisation does. GoodCourse sat down with Shona Stephen, Chief Executive of Queens Cross Housing Association, to discuss her full-circle career journey to becoming CEO and the key to fostering an inclusive culture while merging organisations. The 79th United Nations General Assembly (#UNGA) is a pivotal moment for addressing global challenges and advancing the #SDGs. IYF was excited to attend McDonald's panel discussion, which focused on the critical role of inclusive hiring practices in promoting social and economic progress. Inclusive employment is vital for tackling inequalities and promoting economic inclusion. McDonald’s, in partnership with IYF, has exceeded its global Youth Opportunity (YO) goal, impacting approximately 2.2 million young people through job readiness training and employment opportunities at McDonald’s or participating franchisee restaurants since 2018. This achievement, reached two years ahead of the 2025 target, highlighted the transformative power of inclusive employment and strategic partnerships. "𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧" When I started volunteering at JDC Foundation back in 2012, I didn't know how far this journey would take me. From working on grassroots initiatives to leading impactful CSR projects, I learned that real change happens when we step up, take responsibility, and collaborate. Fast forward to today—balancing roles in PR at GARANT.IN residence & citizenship and spearheading social responsibility efforts At JDC Foundation Pakistan —I’ve realized that stories and connections drive both brands and communities forward. Whether it’s building a narrative for businesses or creating campaigns that inspire change, the power of communication is unmatched. I’m proud to work at the intersection of social impact, branding, and storytelling. Every day, I strive to answer: "How can I connect people to a purpose?" If you’ve worked on impactful initiatives or faced challenges in branding, CSR, or marketing—let's connect, exchange ideas, and collaborate. Because every great story starts with action. #CSR #Branding #Storytelling #Marketing #SocialImpact #Leadership

Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) plays a crucial role in fostering a positive workplace culture. OCB encompasses voluntary actions by employees that benefit their colleagues and the organization beyond their job descriptions. The five most common types of OCB include altruism, courtesy, sportsmanship, conscientiousness, and civic virtue. #Altruism involves selflessly assisting colleagues without expecting anything in return, while courtesy entails polite and considerate behavior towards others. #Sportsmanship encourages employees to handle unexpected situations gracefully, avoiding negative reactions. #Conscientious individuals not only meet deadlines but also plan ahead to ease their colleagues' workload. #Civic virtue is exemplified by employees supporting their company outside of their official roles, like participating in fundraisers or charity events with coworkers. Embracing OCB not only enhances teamwork but also contributes to a more supportive and thriving work environment. How do you incorporate OCB into your daily interactions at work? #OrganizationalCulture #Teamwork #EmployeeEngagement

Meet Sonja, someone who makes SPARC such a special place! We asked her a few questions to learn more about what drives her to do her incredible work. ❔ What inspired you to work at SPARC, and what do you enjoy most about your role? Before working at SPARC I was in the special education field at Hendrick Hudson School District When I saw an opening at SPARC I knew immediately I would fit right in with the company. What I enjoy most about my role here at SPARC is getting to know each participant individually and fostering to their individual needs. Watching them reach milestones is incredibly rewarding and inspiring. ❔ What do you find most rewarding about working with individuals with IDD? What I find most rewarding about working with individuals with IDD is seeing their growth, not only in their work but also socially with their staff and peers. Watching them overcome challenges and try new things brings me joy and reminds me why it is so important to be patient with everyone. ❔ What unique skills or qualities do you bring to the team? I bring a lot of creativity to the table, which helps me design engaging and inclusive activities that cater to a variety of interests and needs. I enjoy designing lesson plans for Link Up that are not only enriching but also fun! ❔ Who or what inspires you to continue making a difference in the lives of our participants? The participants themselves inspire me every day. Their determination and resilience remind me why this work matters. I am also continually inspired by my coworkers who always so patient and kind with all of our participants (and me!). ❔ What’s a piece of advice you’d give to someone considering a career in this field? Be patient and open-minded. Every individual has unique strengths and perspectives, celebrating those differences is what makes this work so fulfilling. Getting to know everyone and their interests will open you up to make connections with them. Thanks for sharing with us, Sonja! We’re lucky to have you on our team. #StaffAppreciation #TeamSpotlight #ThankYouStaff

Did you know that the first human rights legislation brought into use in any jurisdiction in the world was in Saskatchewan in 1947? In both our in-person or virtual workshop training (EDI Leadership) and our blended learning Active Allies course, we teach and discuss human rights in the context of Canada. Our inherent human rights have a big impact on how we experience the world around us, including our workplaces. On #HumanRightsDay, let's remember our responsibility to foster an inclusive and respectful work environment. If you want to learn more, check out our upcoming offerings of Active Allies at https://lnkd.in/gipAqBad. The next cohort starts on January 6, 2025. #StandUp4HumanRights
