Yesterday I had the privilege of speaking at the Quantum Business Network (QBN)'s "Quantum Computing Status Quo" virtual event alongside a panel of fantastic presenters, who covered everything from hot topics in the industry (e.g., recent publications), to hardware, to materials science, to software. Some of the ✨ key takeaways ✨ from the panel that resonated with me: 💡 It's time for quantum computing to expand beyond the physics departments of academia into computer science, business, and more. 📚 Let's encourage a wider exploration of this incredible field by training people and speaking about quantum in realistic terms everyone can understand. 🌐 Supply chain remains a challenge for quantum computing hardware to mature, but in the meantime quantum simulators and classical compute with hybrid quantum algorithms are a great way to experiment. 🔬 Exploration is essential to identify the right use cases and compare speed and performance of quantum and classical solutions. 💎 Exciting innovations are happening in the materials science space related to quantum diamonds and nanoscience that will empower future qubits and quantum processors. 👩💻 Software platforms like #tq42 by Terra Quantum AG are making quantum accessible to users for experimentation, with the goal of moving solutions from POC to production. The leaders of the International Council of Quantum Industry Associations (ICQIA) partners, composed of the European Quantum Industry Consortium (QuIC), Quantum Industry Canada, the Quantum STrategic industry Alliance for Revolution(Q-STAR), and QED-C®, convened in person during Q-Expo to discuss several topics of common interest. The work meeting allowed the global industry leaders to advance collaborative projects, notably the development of global value chain landscapes in quantum computing and quantum-secure communication. The discussions reinforced the Council’s commitment to innovation and growth in the quantum industry. #quantum #Quantumindustry

Quantum Alliances - Building the Industry On August 1st, QuEra Computing Inc. announced the launch of the QuEra Quantum Alliance Partner Program, composed of 19 industry partners. who intend to “identify and collaborate with leading technology and solutions companies to deliver unparalleled quantum computing experiences to organizations worldwide…[the] initiative aims to accelerate the development, deployment, and utilization of neutral-atom quantum computers to solve the world’s most challenging computational problems." QuEra's alliance is the latest in a series of quantum industry alliances focused on the adoption, innovation, regulation and advocacy of #quantumtechnologies. This declaration, first outlined last year, establishes a strategic cooperation between EU member states to promote quantum technologies, and a commitment to cooperate in developing a European world-class quantum technology ecosystem. Austria has long been at the forefront of research in the quantum field. By signing this declaration, it is committing to continue supporting the commercialization of the technology and the transfer of knowledge from fundamental research into innovative products and services.
