Josiah's been a friend for some time now and I've always appreciated his innate optimism and generosity and it's such a pleasure to see that all coming together in his podcast "Hospitality Daily". I used the conversation to remind myself that it is the very focus on joy, beauty, and differentiation that leads to both emotional and financial success in our business. If what we're doing at Dovetail + Co feels aligned with your world view and philosophy on how to create enduring value in our industry, please drop me a message and I would love to see how we can work together (projects, investments, professional collaboration...). Thank you Josiah Mackenzie !

Host of Hospitality Daily: #1 podcast on LinkedIn, #1 on Google, helping 300,000+ hoteliers each month delight people, make money, and thrive by learning from the best in the business

Phil Hospod gives us some Monday motivation on why there’s no better place to be than in the world of hospitality: "We're in the pleasure business. We're in the joy business. We're in the comfort business," Phil told me today on the Hospitality Daily Podcast. "This is a remarkable business to be in. It's a really old business, which also shows how important this is. It's fundamental to who we are as humans in terms of our desire to interact with each other, see the world, travel, and see loved ones or special places." "It's a growth business. More travel is happening every year to more places, and there's more connectivity and ability to travel. We, as purveyors of that and creating these settings and places for people to experience, get to take advantage of that growth. That's pretty exciting. That's reason for optimism." "What's exciting for us at Dovetail + Co is the trends around wellness, adventure travel, nature-oriented travel, and experience travel is all growing substantially higher than the travel business in general. In my view, we're already in a great business, and then we're in a sub-segment of a business that is even more exciting." "What's exciting about experience-driven hospitality is more and more, [our culture] is realizing that it's not the things we buy that make an impact on our own happiness and our own day-to-day life. It's about the moments and the experiences that we enjoy and share. And so that's exciting for us as the creator of the hospitality and lifestyle hotels. But I also just think it's exciting for humanity. We're focusing on our moments and our experiences, and we're focusing less on the creation of physical things. So that's something that we're excited about and inspired by." Keep this in mind as you head into this week. Operating with optimism increases your odds of success today, this week, and over the long term! Listen to my conversation with Phil today at Hospitality Daily
