Map, Model, and Monitor Biodiversity on Offshore Wind Sites. Opinions shared are my own and do not necessarily reflect that of my employer.

Starting trials of the SEA-KIT International 18 metre XL-Class uncrewed surface vessel (USV) (Blue Eclipse®) is huge news because it has the potential to revolutionise offshore wind site characterisation. Not only will it drop carbon emissions dramatically, it'll also remove people from harms way, and improve work life balance for marine geophysicists. When combined with our Remote Operations Centres, remote geophysics enables greater utilisation from vessels (which is a key constraint in offshore wind development) with the aim of delivering more data per year to progress more projects towards Final Investment Decision and beyond. Considering the exponential growth in offshore wind planning, efficiencies in data acquisition like this hold massive potential. Stay tuned as we dive deeper into the trials and showcase the incredible capabilities of our USV. #USV #MaritimeInnovation #AutonomyAtSea #MilestoneAchievement #StayTuned
