This holistic urban planning approach reflects a genuine dedication to creating #resilient spaces that prioritise community well-being while addressing the challenges posed by climate change. The plans go beyond aesthetics; they promise to enhance local spaces and provide invaluable support to #localbusinesses and #marketstall holders, shaping Shipley into a thriving and vibrant town center for everyone. The square's transformation marks a dynamic shift, ensuring spaces adapt to the community's needs. The integration of versatile features, rain gardens, and pedestrian-friendly elements isn't just a redesign; it's the shaping of a focal point that enhances the well-being and connectivity of Shipley. This endeavour is more than making a square visually appealing; it's about creating a more inviting and sustainable town centre. #ShipleyRedevelopment #UrbanPlanning #CommunityWellBeing #landscapearchitecture

The heart of #Shipley is set to undergo a massive transformation with the ambitious redevelopment of its market square. A planning application for the project has been submitted, led by Bradford Council’s Landscape, Design and Conservation Team, which will revitalise the market square, under the Shipley Streets for People initiative. This new design will create a contemporary and adaptable space, suitable for events and pop-up market stalls. An all-weather canopy means the square will be able to host year-round events, ensuring a vibrant atmosphere regardless of the weather. The redevelopment of the market square has been supported by funding from the the Government-funded #ShipleyTownsFund and the West Yorkshire Combined Authority. For more information visit:

Looks amazing Saira. I hope all those green areas will be busy managing surface water as well as all the other good things they do!
