March 8th is National Biobased Products Day… The second annual National Biobased Products Day is just around the corner... And we invite you to celebrate! National Biobased Products Day is an annual date designed to raise awareness of biobased products—how they’re made, what they’re made from, their many benefits, and the wide variety of products available for use at home, in the office, on the playground, at construction sites and even in landscaping. This is not a USDA specific program or event. Instead, National Biobased Products Day is a collective effort and opportunity for all of us within the bioeconomy to bring attention to the great work being done to improve sustainability, grow U.S. manufacturing, jobs and the bioeconomy, and benefit rural communities. To celebrate, we encourage you to: • Plan some type of event—large, small or virtual. • Get local kids involved by holding a poster or story contest. • Host an educational webinar to showcase your agency’s sustainability efforts. • Spread the word to let others know about National Biobased Products Day. And collaborate with partners and stakeholders to celebrate together. Use this helpful Checklist to plan your company’s celebration!

💚 Let's create a future we can all fall in love with! 💚 That was the main quote from last week's closing ceremony at the Love Tomorrow Conference. If you missed this inspiring event, don’t worry—we’ve got you covered. Here are Seven Beaufort's five favorite quotes of the day: 👌 "Our strategy is to tackle the big emission contributors first!" - Debbie Van Dijck, Project Lead Sustainability at Tomorrowland Selected by Olivier: Tomorrowland is like a temporary city that comes to life every year. With a 52-day build-up and a 19-day breakdown, it has many characteristics of a real city, making it the perfect place to test new tech and sustainable ideas. ♻️ "Let's keep closing circles!" - Glenn Van Olmen, CFO at Aquafin Selected by Linde: The concept of Riolimo, lemonade from wastewater, highlights the endless possibilities of transforming wastewater into valuable resources. ❤️🔥 “Don’t start with your passion, start with what the world needs from you, and make that your passion!” - Rutger Bregman, Bestselling Author and Thought Leader Selected by Samuel: For the first time in history, people are obsessed with their "passion" and what drives them, so much so that we forget that we live on this rock together. What you can change for the better, you should. ✨ "Explain things in emotion." - Richard Ascott, CMO at Cowboy Selected by Sylvie: Brands need to go beyond technical features and connect with their audience on an emotional level, making messages more memorable and impactful. 🌱 "The only way to be successful in sustainable business is by providing value to your customer. You cannot build a business on being sustainable alone.” - Jean-Marc Vandoorne, CEO at BioFirst Group Selected by Marie: BioFirst’s bio alternative to pesticides, which uses bumblebees, offers greater yield to horticulturists, demonstrating that sustainability must be paired with customer benefits. How fat was that! 🌍 #LoveTomorrow #Conference #Inspiration #Sustainability #Innovation #SevenBeaufort #Tomorrowland

I saw Hannah Ritchie speak at the Hay Festival earlier this year. She spoke with eloquence and passion. I subsequently purchased her latest book and can highly recommend it. In a world full of doom and gloom media soundbites, one could be forgiven for thinking that there is little hope for future generations. Hannah dispels this view with hard data and a well articulated narrative which explains that, in many instances, humans are solving many of the pressing issues related to sustainability. Given my namesake was generally considered to be the founding father of economics, I often ponder whether capitalism is a good or bad thing (yes, I am such fun to be around!). Hannah's book makes you realise that there are many thousands of enthusiastic and intelligent people beavering away on the solutions that will make it a brighter future. Fixes for critical issues such as reducing air pollution, maintaining a stable food supply, responsible materials use, climate change and over fishing. However, it's also clear that governments have a major part to play by implementing policies that control the excesses of capitalism. Take over-fishing in our oceans as an example. Quite understandably, fishermen/women want to maximise their catches on each trip. During the 1980's and 1990's, many fish species were under threat due to excessive fishing across the world. Left unchecked, numbers would have dwindled to critically low levels. In some parts of the world, fishing is a key industry and the main source of food for people. Fortunately, multiple governments put in place controls such as quotas to reduce the quantity caught. This was one of several measures which has helped restore the numbers of many species. There are many, many more stories like this in Hannah's book. Remember, sustainability is about ensuring that the needs of current generations are met, whilst not jeopardising the future of those that will follow us.

The unique and memorable experience of attending the first ReGen Friends Summit in San Francisco just 5 years ago continues to resonate with me to this day. I fondly recall the enriching discussions and the opportunity to share insights alongside esteemed individuals such as Meg Adelman, RN, BSN, MPH of Navitas Organics, Chris Hortinela of Vitamin Angels, and Susanne Stormer who was with Novo Nordisk at the time. The thought-provoking panel was just the beginning, as the Summit also provided the privilege of listening to the remarkable perspectives of Doniga Markegard from Markegard Family Grass-Fed Family Farm and Vincent Stanley from Patagonia, among many other inspiring figures. This captivating event truly reinforced the prevailing significance of sustainability and regenerative business practices in our current landscape. I am especially grateful to Nils-Michael Langenborg, gMBA and Emily M. Olson, MBA Sustainable Enterprise for their exemplary leadership and dedication in spearheading the inaugural Summit. The ReGen Friends Summit served as a springboard for innovative collaborations and forward-thinking initiatives that have left a mark on the landscape of sustainable business. This resonates with our initial sentiment from the Summit, which still holds true today — sustainability and regenerative business practices are undeniably on the rise, and it is heartening to witness this positive evolution. The memories and insights gathered during that event have contributed to the founding of BGoodPartners, infusing every aspect of the firm with a spirit of dedication to creating positive change in the world. It is a privilege to continue be on this journey, upholding the ethos of sustainability and social good to drive momentum toward a more conscious and responsible future. When you place service above self, good things happen. As Earth Day 2024 approaches rapidly (April 22, 2024), consider the ways in which you, your organization, or your community can make a meaningful contribution to a brighter and more sustainable world. #earthdayeveryday #bgoodpartners #sustainabilitymatters #regenerativebusiness #regenerativeeconomy #serviceaboveself #esg #sdgs

April is EARTH MONTH 🌎 Earth Month continues the original Earth Day movement, which appeared in 1970 in the United States. This event is a grassroots movement to raise awareness of environmental issues and environmental justice in the country. The Earth Day movement was started by Senator Gaylord Nelson from Wisconsin and has been supported by a network of activists, organizations, and millions of people across the United States 💧 In a report published in 2019 by the Institute for Climate Economics, food consumption accounts for about 1/3 of global greenhouse gas emissions. 🚜 At Bonduelle, our mission is to promote the transition to a more plant-based diet, to contribute to the well-being of people and the preservation of the planet. We seek to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions from field to fork. This is why Bonduelle is seeking to meet the challenges of the transition to regenerative agriculture, and 46% of Bonduelle's partner farmers are already committed to it! Bonduelle's ambition is to have 80% of our partner farmers committed to regenerative agriculture by 2030. 🧑🌾 Bonduelle also encourages flexitarianism, a diet that does not prohibit any food, but advocates a limited consumption of animal proteins, without giving it up completely, and by enriching one's diet with fruits, vegetables and pulses, whole grains and nuts. In addition to reducing the carbon footprint, it adds fiber, vitamins, and minerals to your diet 🥬 For example, replacing beef with poultry produces up to 10 times fewer greenhouse gases. And to go further, if you replace the beef with peas, it's 100 times less carbon impact! Earth Month is every month! 📆 Earth Day is every day! 🌎 #LaNatureNotreFutur #EarthMonth #TransitionAlimentaire
