Solo Exhibition by Deborah Dicembre 27 May - 11 June 2024 'Master Peace’ - Art is the great connector, which is why , I believe , it is so healing. This exhibit , ‘Master Peace’, is about alchemising our pain and primary wounds into peace and progress. If we do that in a healthy way, we can live in peace with ourselves and with others. When you’re comfortable in your own skin , you are more pleasant to be around. When you haven’t dealt with your wounds they bleed out over your life and over others. As an abstract expressionist , I give shape , body , colour and form to ethereal or non bodied concepts such as emotions, energy , thoughts and experiences . How we process our pain and primary wounds effects our ability to live in peace and in healthy relationship with ourselves and others. Open Daily 10am-4pm

There will always be exception. But extreme and vulgar materialism has completely destroyed culture. All people care for is money and 24 hour shopping binge. Welcome to hell! But obviously people have to pay a huge price for this extreme stupidity of blindly following materialism. Mental illness will hit 30% or more population in 20 years. Every exhibit is a story. When you take a moment to experience it, that exhibit story becomes part of yours. It’s neat to think about. Try this. Scroll through your camera roll to a photo you took at a museum or gallery and spend some time with the memories. Who was with you? What did you eat that day? What else do you remember because of that picture? You may have a surprisingly detailed recollection. Funny thing is, you likely don’t remember the actual exhibit story in this photograph. We are here to help with that. Capption keeps a history of exhibits you scan so you can reread every story and remember details you forgot, or learn things you may have missed. Having those details would ignite even more great memories. Making an exhibit story part of ours is how art moves us, how science teaches us. Go out and add to your story! Continuing the results of our polls - 60% prefer to have a hybrid approach of permanent display area (that may change content regularly) and an on-line virtual museum, 64% have a partially completed catalogue of items; no-one claimed to have a complete list and 22% haven't started making a list, Excel or otherwise. As regards funding, 50% of archives are self-funded - clearly this cannot be sustainable and must put those archives and collections at risk.

Our new Special Collections Exhibition: Medieval Recycling Recycling isn’t a new phenomenon. The practice of reusing parts of old volumes to make new ones seems to be almost as ancient as books themselves. UWTSD’s collections include more than sixty books containing pieces of parchment recycled from older medieval and early modern manuscripts.
