Fluid Topics (🇫🇷) raised €15m from Kennet Partners to expand in the US. ICEBERG DATA LAB (🇫🇷) secures a $10m Series A led by Beringea, with participation from MAIF Avenir and AXA Investment Managers. #STVInsights ⬆️ ~220 active companies have successfully secured later-stage funding to date, and MENA is entering its growth-stage phase for the first time in history. 🚩 ∼$25bn for growth-stage funding is needed in MENA in the next 5 years, of which only $5bn is available today, revealing a large gap of $20bn that stands in the way of the region realizing its full potential. 🌎 International investors played a big role in 2022, making up 50% of investors in late-stage deals. But by the first half of 2023, their participation dropped to only 28%. ⏳ The region needs more specialized growth-stage VC’s to ensure consistent focus and the availability of specialized capabilities.
