⛷️High Quality snow for Freestyle Event ❄️ KTI’s snowPRO systems have established themselves as a reliable #solution for producing high-quality #snow at international freestyle events. Since 2014, our snowPRO technology has enabled #snow production at above-freezing temperatures, setting new benchmarks in the event industry. In Zurich 2014, KTI supported a major freestyle competition with two snowPRO100 units, each housed in a 40-foot container. Together, these units produced up to 90 tons of flake ice per day, delivering #snow over a 50-meter distance to ensure consistent #snow coverage across the entire ramp. This event was a turning point, showcasing snowPRO's ability to perform under challenging conditions and positioning it as a preferred solution for similar #events. Building on this success, KTI partnered with snowbox GmbH in Chur 2022 to support the FIS Freestyle World Cup. Here, our snowPRO70 unit played a crucial role, producing around 70 m³ of #snow per day and ensuring the ramp was perfectly prepared, despite warm winds and rain. Installed in a compact 20-foot container, the snowPRO70 transported #snow across a 50-meter distance to the event site. Athletes and event organizers alike were impressed with the consistent #snow quality, which contributed to a seamless and successful competition. This week´s #datanugget is, in fact, two data nuggets! One from Sweden 🇸🇪 and one from Norway 🇳🇴. Let's look at outdoor brands since it´s the start of the skiing ⛷️ season. In Sweden, Fjällräven has a solid lead. Haglöfs closed in and had a more positive development during 2020-2022 due to active communication of their take on sustainability. But over the past two years, Haglöfs has dropped again. Peak Performance performs around the market average in Sweden. Houdini Sportswear has seen minor improvements over the years, catching up to The North Face, but the brand is still struggling with lower awareness than the competitors. In Norway, Bergans of Norway has had a comfortable lead way ahead of the competition for many years. However, Norrøna had a spectacular 2024, closing the gap to catch up. Fjällräven and Helly Hansen are ahead of the market average but well behind the leaders, with the latter having a clear positive trend over the past two years.

2024: The year women are allowed to compete in the Red Bull Rampage... Following my post a few days ago recognising surfer Vahine Fierro’s historic win at the 2024 Tahiti Pro, an event women were not allowed to compete in until 2021. Red Bull have just announced that this year, 2024, will be the first time women will compete in the Rampage, one of the most challenging and prestigious events in free ride mountain biking. For years, Red Bull Rampage has been a men-only event. Now, with the introduction of a women’s category, female athletes will have the opportunity to showcase their incredible skills and bravery on the same massive and technical courses that have defined Rampage for over two decades. This announcement comes with mixed feelings. Clearly, it's incredible to hear that women now have the platform to compete in one of the world most technical mountain biking events. However, it comes with frustration that it's 2024 when this is happening.
