Electric JAC TRUCKS spotted running around Sydney delivering for IKEA via delivery partner ANC Delivers. When IKEA announced their plans for zero emission deliveries by 2025 back in 2019 it seemed like a long way off. As of November 2024, IKEA and its delivery partners achieved 60% zero emission deliveries, making Australia the seventh most electrified IKEA fleet in the world.

FRANCE, DECEMBER 2024: ELECTRIFYING OUR MARSEILLE ROAD CLUSTER It feels great to share that, together with GROUPE PORTMANN we are turning our flows in Southern France into “zero emission” solution! 3 Scania trucks – the first ones in France to be deployed in IKEA network, and one of the Scania’s first ones in France - will be deployed in December on the flows from our distribution center (DC) in Fos sur Mer to the stores in Vitrolles, Marseille and Avignon, and from the port to the DC, covering around 1500 shipments yearly, saving approx. 150 tons of CO2. This is the first step and more will come at a later stage. Electrification of the road heavy-duty transportation is one of the corner stones in building future waste-free transportation. Without a fantastic collaboration it would not be possible to make this set-up sustainable in all respects: optimized operating framework ensuring highest possible vehicle’s productivity, charging infrastructure, operational planning, etc. are the keys to success. What an amazing week at the IKEA Board Meeting in Poland – where we took a deep dive into IKEA’s Supply Chain, an area of mastery and excellence, which is of course essential for IKEA’s quality and low prices. The Head of IKEA’s Supply Chain is the wonderful Susanne Waidzunas, an IKEA veteran who leads operations in a clever, trustworthy and low-profile way – very much in IKEA’s style! 😊 We visited the biggest furniture factory in the world, located in Poznan, which has over 100 hectares of working operations! This factory is led by another AMAZING woman Małgorzata Dobies-Turulska. 💪 There are so many stories I could share about this visit, but for now I want to highlight how impressed I was with the commitment towards co-creating a fully decarbonised goods flow! IKEA completes 1.7 million shipments a year, and the team are constantly striving to ensure that logistics are simpler, more affordable and sustainable. Bien sûr! IKEA’s ambition is to use zero-emission transport and 100% renewable energy across operations, with: ✅ 100% renewable electricity in logistics units by 2025 ✅ 70% relative reduction in transport operations and the use of 100% renewable energy by 2030 I was also very excited to see the fleet of 100% electric trucks! Did you know that IKEA was the pioneer of using the mega trucks from Volvo Group? 🤔 An epic move from IKEA – much like Claude Van Dime’s famous Volvo split! As I approach my one-year anniversary at IKEA, reflecting on the journey thus far fills me with a profound sense of pride and excitement. My role in the Last Mile Delivery team has not only been a job but a transformative experience, merging my passion for logistics with the pursuit of sustainable solutions. Since joining IKEA, I've been witness to a revolution in home delivery, particularly here in Norway, where our commitment to sustainability and efficiency has taken center stage. At IKEA, we understand that shopping is more than just a transaction; it's an experience infused with emotions and sensations. From the moment customers browse our website or step into our stores, we strive to create an environment that resonates with them. However, the journey doesn't end at the checkout counter. It extends to the last mile of delivery, where we've embarked on a mission to redefine the customer experience while minimizing our environmental impact. The launch of IKEA's Delivery Management Platform (DMP) marks a significant milestone in our endeavor to reinvent home delivery. By taking control of route planning and delivery logistics, we've empowered ourselves to curate every step of the delivery process, from the store to the customer's doorstep. This level of control not only enhances efficiency but also allows us to prioritize sustainability. In Norway, where the breathtaking landscapes pose unique challenges to logistics, DMP has been a game-changer. From the bustling urban streets of Oslo to the serene fjords of Trondheim, we've navigated diverse terrains with a singular goal in mind: to deliver IKEA products with minimal environmental impact. Through meticulous route planning and the adoption of zero-emission vehicles, we're not only reducing our carbon footprint but also setting a new standard for sustainable last mile deliveries. The integration of technology enhances the customer experience with timely notifications and tracking, ensuring a seamless delivery process. This approach drives satisfaction and loyalty, evident in positive feedback since implementing DMP. IKEA's unwavering commitment to sustainability guides every decision, from renewable energy vehicles to eco-friendly packaging. It permeates every aspect of our operations, from material sourcing to product delivery. Reflecting on my IKEA journey, I'm optimistic for the future. Each day brings opportunities to innovate in sustainable last mile deliveries. Proud to be part of a company actively working towards a greener future, we navigate the path to sustainability together. #IKEA #LASTMILE

New Partnership is the New Leadership! I am thrilled to share another great example of how new horizontal collaborations can support us in deploying intermodal rail solutions that contribute to building sustainable transport systems. This success in collaborative approaches among transport buyers started with INDITEX, as previously shared. This confirms that we have opportunities to further explore and leverage such transformative business approaches. Now, we have deployed a new rail solution on the Poland-Austria corridor. This has been achieved together with another shipper and WENZEL Logistics. We have started with two train departures and are already looking to add a third one! This effort enables us to shift an additional 4,000 loads from road to rail, saving 2,300 tons of CO2 yearly. I also want to highlight the crucial role of the human factor in making this happen. This success is about PEOPLE and their willingness to do things differently with high engagement. Special thanks to Joanna Waliszewska, Stephan Platzer, MBA and WENZEL Logistics team. Let's keep moving forward in co-creating the future of transportation. We will all WIN from such new partnerships. #NewPartnership #LogisticsInnovation #Collaboration #Intermodal #Decarbonization
12 NOVEMBER 2024: LAUNCH OF A BRAND-NEW INTERMODAL-RAIL CONNECTION POLAND-AUSTRIA-POLAND, -2300 TONS CO2 On 12 November evening, we started a brand-new intermodal-rail connection between Poland (Poznan) and Austria (Wendorf). It supports our efforts to ensure sustainability in transportation in all its 3 dimensions: ecological, economical and social. This new connection has been built by WENZEL Logistics GmbH for IKEA and another important fellow shipper based on a very close horizontal collaboration (combining the volume flows, agreeing common operational requirements, time plan, etc.) of all parties involved. Currently, two block trains per week will enable IKEA to move additional 4.000 load from road and save 2300 tons of CO2 yearly. As a next step, we are focusing on bringing further volumes to this solution to possibly enable the launch of the third weekly train, and we will explore possibilities to deploy zero emission vehicles for first and last mile to build another green corridor. Big thanks for this great example of horizontal collaboration go to: Damian Walaszek, Klaus Kurzmann, Bernhard Serdelic, Ferry Thomann, Helmut Nussbaumer and IKEA Land team: Joanna Waliszewska, Adrien GARCIA, Tudor Viorel Ciobanu

During the financial year that ended in August, IKEA Finland focused on investing in future growth. Investments focused particularly on lowering prices and continuously improving the in-store customer experience, user-friendliness and sustainability. We reduced the price of more than 2,870 products, which in practice means that the price of about one in four products decreased. We see extensive price cuts as particularly important at a time when the rising cost of living is limiting consumers' purchasing power. We built sustainable growth for the future by investing in sustainability, especially renewable energy and improving energy efficiency. The Espoo store switched to geothermal heating and more solar power capacity was built for the stores in Espoo, Raisio and Tampere. In addition, the energy performance of restaurants and bistros was improved. Thank you to all IKEA co-workers for boldly making our vision come to life! We will continue to lower prices this year as well. Read more about the financial year 2024 and our future plans 👉https://lnkd.in/dS_bE9GR #IKEA#lowerprices

The Philippines' green logistics supplier Mober Technology Pte., Inc. has established sustainable delivery services in Cebu to support Swedish home furnishing retailer IKEA Philippines' regional expansion. Mober said on Wednesday that as IKEA Philippines' green logistics partner, it will employ its 100% electric vehicle fleet to enable zero-emission home deliveries in Cebu and other Visayas regions. This complements IKEA's regional demand for high-quality, affordable home products and Mober's eco-friendly logistics solutions, it said. Mober's collecting centre in Cebu City would speed up delivery and increase product accessibility for Visayan families in addition to sustainable delivery services. IKEA Philippines' environmental items and Mober's EV charging stations are delivered last at the collection hub. The statement said Mober's Cebu City facility supports IKEA's EV fleet with its latest 15kw OCPP chargers, which are type 2 and GB/T compliant. “This represents a leap forward for the Philippines in embracing sustainable practices across the logistics industry,” said Mober Founder and Chief Executive Officer Dennis Ng. He added Mober can leverage its all-electric fleet to provide sustainable business solutions for a net-zero carbon emission future as EV adoption grows. Mober, founded in July 2015, helps FMCG and retail firms sustain their supply chains. Mober works with IKEA Philippines, SM Appliance Centre, Unilever Philippines, Nestle Philippines, Nespresso, Maersk, and Kuehne+Nagel. Mober's #partnership approach gives businesses an exceptional advantage by allowing them to convert to green delivery operations without CapEx or upfront fees. The company plans to lead green logistics in Southeast Asia, starting in the Philippines, with an expanding fleet and new solutions, ensuring a sustainable logistics business.
