What an amazing first day at the Bright Network #IEUK internship programme!  My most memorable session was hosted by the lovely Charlotte Sangster from PwC UK where we learnt about building your personal brand. It was a great opportunity for self-reflection, and I will be putting all of these into practice immediately!  One of our tasks was to outline our top 5 values and I’ll love to share mine with you:   1. Learning and continuous development  2. Faith/positivity  3. Excellence  4. Leadership (first to myself and then to others)  5. Not all interns are of the same age. More mature intern usually are more confident in presenting themselves (Hey, I did 4 internships before after all), while younger ones usually does not mind being push around a bit (This is a dream come true, I will do whatever it takes!). If you are older, don't come across as arrogant and disrespectful. Learn to follow instructions from someone younger than you if she's your boss. If you are younger, do not be intimated by others' experience. You are just like them, but 1 or 2 years younger. It's strange that you might find yourself in the same class as your senior at school. How I cracked my GT internship, in 4 easy steps 🍿✨ Stop, you're doing it wrong! You done? Okay so here me out! 🏃➡️-> Decided need to do an internship, because right time doesn't exists. 🏃➡️-> Shortlisted the roles I liked, selected a company which'd be a good fit in that domain, took a risk and selected only 1 company with no backup.. 🥲 🏃➡️-> Reached out to relevant people, extracted their mail IDs, made sure my resume was well-written & formatted. 🏃➡️ -> Drafted the mail and made it crisp, clearly stating my intent for reaching out, sent it to approximately 30+ people in that domain. And done, But heyyyyy, wait wait, something doesn't fits, where's the twist where's the drama? and what exactly happened? It can't be a cakewalk, Ofc it wasn't!
