Strategist @ELFIN Consulting | Regenerative Agriculture Expert | Innovating Sustainable Soil Solutions
🌱 Regenerative Agriculture? What's Your Take? 🌱 Over the past few months, there has been a growing conversation around the transition to regenerative agriculture, and the discussion is quickly moving to the next phase. Some key players in the food value chain, like McCain Foods, PepsiCo, and Unilever, are leading the way by implementing holistic frameworks for their farmers. Others are quickly following, advocating for unified frameworks, standards, metrics, and measurements. But what is regenerative agriculture? A newfangled term or a promising way forward? Many companies promote #RegenerativeAgriculture as a result-oriented approach to improve the impact on #soilhealth, #water, #biodiversity, and #climate. But what this means and looks like in practice will be explored by me and my colleagues Mukaila Olagoke Somoye, Dr. Michael Kühnen at this year's Regenerative Agriculture Summit Series in Amsterdam. We at ELFIN Consulting GmbH are supporting industry players from the Food Value Chain as well as seed and CPP companies in setting, implementing and reporting on commitments and ambitions. We're also excited to go beyond and exchange with the textile companies on their journey towards regenerative agriculture.

If you are a business sourcing from the land sector joining WBCSD – World Business Council for Sustainable Development on initiatives such the Regenerative Agriculture Metrics initiatives (RAM) might be one way to ensure your regen ag measurement is aligned with others and based on latest technical insight #regenerativeagriculture
🌍"Aligned metrics help establish a long-term vision for sustainable procurement." — Sarah Lockwood, Danone. This powerful insight set the tone for an inspiring panel moderated by Dana Rakha-Michalon at the Regenerative Agriculture Summit Series in Amsterdam. With insights from Nicoline van Gerrevink (Rabobank), Sarah Lockwood (Danone), Peter Fröhlich (farmer and representative EARA | European Alliance for Regenerative Agriculture and AgriCircle AG), and Hanna Denes (Textile Exchange), on how aligned metrics will improve transparency and accountability in #regenerativeagriculture: ➡️Empower farmers with clear, data-driven decisions. ➡️Enable sustainable sourcing strategies for value chain actors. ➡️Guide financial institutions in supporting regenerative practices. As Peter Fröhlich reminded us: “Harmonization of data is important for farmers to reduce costs and perform better.” 📈The Regenerative Agriculture Metrics (RAM) initiative, led by WBCSD – World Business Council for Sustainable Development, OP2B, and 33 partner organizations involves over 1,100 businesses working together to consolidate how we measure regenerative agriculture outcomes. By aligning on key metrics—like soil organic carbon—RAM is driving progress on 11 core outcomes, including improved soil health, reduced emissions, and increased biodiversity, to create a more resilient and sustainable agricultural system. Explore and learn more about the reports on #climate, #water, #soil, and #biodiversity https://lnkd.in/eDiSYZeB. 📢We are calling on everyone—businesses, organizations, and stakeholders across the agricultural value chain—to join us in driving convergence on how we measure, report, and disclose the impact of #regenerativeagriculture. #regenerativeagriculure #metrics #alignforimpact #RAM #collaborateforchange

excited to see the outputs of many months of hard work getting out in the world! i use that word outputs very intentionally - reports themselves don't make impact, people and organizations and communities do. and no report or agreement is perfect or even satisfying to every single actor - this is what compromise and building consensus is all about. so the path ahead is clear - to build on this strong show of alignment on #regenerativeagriculture outcomes and metrics to drastically scale-up investment and impact on the ground. the future of our soils, food and farmers depends on it. onward -

👩🌾 To accelerate #RegenerativeAgriculture, we need to overcome the key challenges to an integrated measurement architecture – a lack of cohesion on definition and outcomes, fragmented and siloed data collection and reporting, a need to translate global frameworks into local action plans, and a lack of inclusivity of farmers and Indigenous peoples and local communities (IPLC) in the process. 🆕 Our newly launched Regenerative Agriculture Metrics (RAM) joint working group aims to influence accounting, reporting & disclosure bodies to develop specific guidance for regenerative agriculture. RAM members recognize the need to measure environmental, social and economic outcomes for a holistic approach to regenerative agriculture. 📩 Scroll through to read the executive summary or download the full report: https://lnkd.in/efMDJXHu OP2B, ADM, Danone, HowGood, GROUPE INVIVO, Livelihoods Venture, L'Oréal, Nestlé, ofi, Syngenta Group, Yara International, Conselho Empresarial Brasileiro para o Desenvolvimento Sustentável (Cebds), Cool Farm Alliance, FAIRR Initiative, Field to Market: The Alliance for Sustainable Agriculture, Regen10, Dana Rakha-Michalon, Kate Newbury-Hyde, Tess Robinson Hayes, Alexi Ernstoff, Mollie Hoss-Kuhne, Quantis, Alain Vidal

Exciting Times at CarbonLog partners. At CarbonLog, we're dedicated to scaling carbon removal and sustainable agriculture alongside smallholder farmers. By empowering these farmers, we're not just improving yields—we're building new dreams for communities and the environment! Here are three quick insights on the impact of our work: 1. High Yields, Sustainable Practices: We partner with smallholder farmers to implement sustainable practices that lead to higher crop yields. This not only boosts individual incomes but also contributes to food security. 2. Carbon Removal Solutions: Collaborating with farmers helps us develop effective carbon removal strategies, which play a crucial role in combating climate change. Every sustainable farming practice contributes to a healthier planet! 3. Economic Empowerment: By equipping farmers with the knowledge and resources to thrive, we're fostering economic empowerment that transcends agricultural boundaries. Together, we can create a cycle of growth and sustainability. Join us in our mission to innovate agriculture, support smallholder farmers, and create a greener future!

Scientific innovation and discovery | Crop Biotechnology and Breeding product pipelines | Strategy development and project management | Leader, Mentor, Coach
Regenerative Agriculture has the potential to reinvent the relationship between consumers, supplies, and our farmer-growers. As a scientist with agricultural roots, I immediately think about the potential implementation of new crops, new rotations, new agronomic management practices, etc. with all the necessary innovation to meet those challenges. I enjoyed learning more about the financial and economic paradigms also necessary to fully realize regenerative agriculture, and now understand the challenges and innovations are not just limited to the crops in the field. I look forward to learning more about, and promoting, regenerative agriculture-related activities of the non-governmental organizations and government agencies in the coming years. https://lnkd.in/gvxXUGyd

In times of EUDR, the recent EU ban on #greenwashing and the US speeding up on agriculture environmental policies for ensuring a nature positive impact at scale, sustainability stewardship across the value chains along with farmers governance is at the cornerstone of the challenges for building a resilient agrifood industry that can help avert climate change catastrophe. Climatechs have a center role in making it happen! Many thanks World Agri-Tech and very much looking forward to seeing you all at San Francisco, US WAT! For a great conversation. #sustainability #stewardship #farmers #governance #climatech
