Are there hidden trans fats, sugar, and nutritionally-void food derivatives lurking in your food pantry? We can all be tricked by packaging, and claims of a healthier product than what is really in the ingredients. Food manufacturers are clever on how to sell their product, and they know how to make you believe it’s the best choice in the aisle. It’s time to get street-smart about visual appeal versus the reality of what the product contains, and dispel some myths about what grabs your eye on the packaging. Watch my video to get my examples on the following 3 ways you can be tricked: 1) Why you shouldn’t believe the word “natural”, which has never been approved as a definition by the FDA. 2) How the claim of “containing vegetables” isn’t really what it seems. 3) How the claim “contains zero grams of Trans Fat” can easily fool you, and why you’re probably eating more than you think! Our innovative Liposomal MCT is made by encapsulating raw MCT into clean-label liposomes, creating liquid solutions with unmatched dispersibility and usability, making it easier to dose into food and beverages like #coffee. And the benefits don’t stop at overcoming solubility challenges. Our tailored solutions prioritize the customer experience by improving the overall mouthfeel, taste, and bioavailability. Curious about MCT? MCTs are rapidly absorbed fats that provide a quick energy boost, and may support weight management and enhanced brain function, making them beneficial for athletes, those on ketogenic diets, and individuals seeking cognitive support. As a staple in the health food and beverage industry, MCTs are often found in oil form, typically derived from coconut oil or palm kernel oil. But we all know how well oil and water mix. That's where our ingredient encapsulation solution shines and is a testament to our dedication to pioneering the future of #CPG with cutting-edge ingredients. The advertisement you see on food is not always reflective of what is true and accurate. The FDA does not regulate the marketing on food. So, food can say ‘heart-healthy’ or high protein and not be reflective of what’s true. Therefore, in order to know if a food is considered high protein per calories, use the trick I mentioned. Add a 0 to the grams of protein, and that will let you know what’s the maximum amount of calories that item should have. If it’s not less than or equal to, then put it down and keep moving on. This is a great trick to use because mango protein bars will sell you on thinking you are getting high protein. But in reality, you might be getting gypped out of cash and protein. For example, if you have ever heard peanut butter is a great source of protein then you were fooled, and here’s why: Peanut butter has 190 calories, so by this rule, it should have at least 19 grams of protein. But instead it only has 7 grams 😅 Yikes. Compare that to a can of tuna, which can have 24 grams of protein and maybe 90 calories. You are now getting a lot more protein for a lot less calories. So, try this out next time you go to the grocery store and see if it helps. In this article, we’ll dive a bit into the weeds on the ingredient label in foods, but the bottom line is, beware of lengthy ingredient decks with numerous ingredients you don’t recognize. There is magic in simple. https://wix.to/XJZcJqJ #healthcrush #ingredients #nutritionallabel #confusing

Reading labels on processed foods is even more important than for fresh foods for a few reasons: 🍬Processed foods often contain a surprising amount of added sugar, sodium, and unhealthy fats. These may not be readily apparent from the taste or even the front of the packaging. Labels help you identify these and make informed choices. 🍭Processed foods often contain preservatives, artificial colors, flavors, and other additives to extend shelf life or enhance taste. While generally safe, some people may prefer to avoid them for health reasons or simply because they want to know exactly what they're consuming. Labels provide this transparency. 🚫Packaging can be misleading, with claims like "healthy" or "all-natural" that don't always reflect reality. Labels provide a more objective picture of the ingredients and nutrients. 🧂Sugar can come in many forms, and manufacturers may use sneaky wording to mask high sugar content. Labels reveal the amount of sugar (including added sugars) per serving. #TheMintEnfold #CulinaryNutritionist #ConsciousEating #WholesomeFoodChoices #MindfulEating #SustainableSnacking #NutritionJourney #RitikaAgarwal

Figuring out which foods are low in omega-6 polyunsaturated fats based on the minimal information most manufacturers put on their products is just about impossible. To help out I have started compiling lists of foods and their seed oil content and publishing them over at www.howmuchsugar.com The most recent of a new series of guides analysing all products in the butter and margarine category is now up. Nutritionally the best choice in this category is butter. It contains no added seed oil and just about everything we need to run our brains and bodies in exactly the right proportions. But if you prefer not to eat butter or cant then this guide will help you pick the best alternative.

If you are unsure where to start nutritionally, make sure each meal has: - Some type of protein - Some type of fruit and/or vegetable - Some type of carbohydrate Organize your meal where each part makes 1/3 of your plate/bowl.
