People have been justly outraged by the Supreme Court's granting of legal immunity to the president. They may not be aware that Congress has long held the same immunity in the exercise of its subpoena power. It can subpoena people just to harass them, and they have no legal recourse. The Congressional subpoena power, by the way, is itself a fabrication nowhere found in the Constitution.
