Should top executives care about what Gen Z terms like 'Rizz' mean in 2024? Perhaps. This question is posed by Christoffer Kleding, Partner & Senior Advisor at Sunrise, in today's issue of Finans. His article discusses how teenage slang like ‘Rizz’ represents a generation and culture that might be challenging to understand from a top executive's viewpoint – but at the same time is impossible to overlook. “Alt i alt er ’rizz’ et ord langt fra forretningslingoen. Men det er, for at blive i de termer, nok alligevel investeringen værd at sætte sig ind i”, Christoffer says. Read the piece here https://hubs.li/Q02fnGN10

Confidential expert advisor to boards and directors ★ Practical governance for better outcomes ★ Director and Board performance ★ Author ★ Speaker ★ Facilitator ★ Mentor
On 15 April 2015 a new director, Jamie Tomlinson, joined the board of Dick Smith Electronics. The chairman commented, “Jamie’s financial and business expertise, obtained during an extensive and diverse career at Lion Nathan, will complement our existing board composition and skillset.” On 18 August 2015 the CEO and CFO of Dick Smith Ltd presented an upbeat FY2015 Financial Results Briefing. Two years earlier the company had floated with a valuation of over $500 million. On 4 January 2016, just five months after that briefing, the company had become insolvent and receivers were appointed. So, how is it possible that a skilled and experienced former CFO would join a board, a mere nine months before the company became insolvent, without realising how perilous the company’s position had become? More important, how can you avoid making a similar decision and joining a board you later regret? On 14 December I will be addressing the more important question in an online short practical course. A link to registration is in the comments. #diligence #boards #directors

here's a list of the kinds of things that we've heard so far this year from CEOs / COOs we've gotten to work with: - "getting my team on board for this change is going to be borderline impossible" - "there is no way we can do this unless my board sees what could be possible too" - "we wish we would have had this conversation three years ago" - "i need to cast vision for 10 years but i also need a plan to stay afloat for the next three years" - "being able to creatively finance our growth is what has us completely stumped" - "we haven't refined our KPIs in years. this is much needed" - "i honestly just don't want to lead this process. i wish i could just be part of it like everyone else" --------------- CEOs + COOs are smart people - but they have stuff that has them stumped too! that's where we we can help. "leading" and "strategy" are the building blocks of a CEO/COOs job description. but neither of those things was meant to be shouldered alone. people often ask me, "who is OnCenter for?" 👉 we're for the pioneering executive that has a dream of what their company's future could be, but needs to figure out how they and their team are ever going to be able to get there. ^the questions matter. we'll help you make sense of them. sound like you? oncenter.io 💪 Paul, Derek, Brittany, Jen

Reflecting on the last 5 years at Norrenberger Financial Group feels like flipping through the pages of a captivating novel, each chapter unveiling new facets of my professional journey. The transition from a mid-level officer to the current role as Group Executive Sale is not just a progression on the corporate ladder; it's a narrative of personal and leadership growth. I vividly recall the early days, stepping into the office with a mix of excitement and nervous energy. The learning curve was steep, but the challenges were met with determination. As a associate officer then, I immersed myself in projects, learned from every experience, and forged connections that have become invaluable. The promotion to a Group Executive Officer is a milestone that echoes the collective efforts, late nights, and unwavering commitment. It signifies not only individual achievement but also the trust and support of a team that believes in shared success. Leadership, to me, is not about titles but about inspiring others, fostering collaboration, and driving positive change. The growth in these 5 years is not just confined to professional achievements; it's about the evolution of a person. It's about discovering resilience in the face of challenges, developing strategic vision, and embracing the responsibilities that come with leadership. Norrenberger Group has been more than a workplace; it's been a community that encourages innovation, celebrates diversity, and values each contribution. As I celebrate this milestone, I'm grateful for the mentors who guided me, the colleagues who collaborated with me, and the challenges that shaped me. The journey doesn't end here; it's a checkpoint in a dynamic expedition. Excited for the opportunities ahead, I look forward to continuing this incredible journey with Norrenberger Financial Group, contributing to its success, and growing both personally and professionally. Here's to the next chapter! #5YearsAnniversary #LeadershipJourney #ProfessionalGrowth
