We are getting ready to announce the second round of American Bird Conservancy Conservation and Justice Fellowships! I greatly appreciate the recent flurry of inquiries and interest - please do keep contacting me with questions. Applications open in early February and we will have a range of new projects focusing on either storytelling or community engagement. The former focus on early career individuals, with a stipend of $10,000. The latter focus on mid-career individuals, with a stipend of $20,000. Topics include neurodiversity, environmental education, Lost Birds and discovery narratives, Indigenous stewardship, and more. The new group will start in June and work part-time over a full year, but the expectations and scope of projects will remain similar (most 2022 fellows took about a year to complete their projects, not six months as we initially envisioned). Working with the 2022 fellows, their ABC hosts, partners, and with students over the past two years has changed how I view my own work as well as the role of fellowships. This experience helped crystallize for me the idea that this work is not about “saving” the earth. Rather, we are collectively serving the earth and supporting the ability of birds, trees, and wild places to save us. https://lnkd.in/etfwqN5p

We are looking for at least 5 #AssociatedRegions  that we can provide with technical assistance to use the outcomes and knowledge of Restore4Life to prepare roadmaps, plans, and projects to restore #wetlandecosystems in their region. 🤔 Who is this #OpenCall designed for? The Call for Associated Regions is specifically designed to engage and collaborate with #Local and #RegionalAuthorities. 🙌 What is our goal? The aim is to share the results and knowledge of the project on an ongoing basis with the selected ‘associated regions’ and to provide them with scientific and technical support for the implementation of #wetlandrestoration solutions in their territory.
