Boxing and Sales: An Unlikely Pair Boxing and sales may seem unrelated, but they share core principles—focus, resilience, and adaptability. Each customer interaction is like a round in the ring; it’s about listening, adjusting, and taking action at the right moment. Boxing has taught me discipline and the mental toughness to handle challenges, while my sales experience sharpens my ability to read situations and respond effectively—whether with a customer or in the ring. Being one of the top salespersons in my company, I’m always learning and improving. How do you think sports can improve your approach to sales?

"Every shot is within a fraction of disaster. That's what makes it so great." This quote by Gary Player about Augusta National & The Masters is not just applicable to golf, but also to sales. As a sales professional, you're only one interaction (call, email, or meeting) away from having the right conversation with your client or prospect. Just like golfers in this weekend's event, sales professionals have to develop their skills and craft a plan of attack. But when it comes down to it, you have to make the shots! So, don't hesitate, take that swing and make the shot that could lead to something memorable! #Sales #Golf #TheMasters

Imagine chatting with a pro-athlete who scoffs at the idea of basic training. They say, "I've been in this game since I was a kid, I've got the basics down." Yet, curiously, they're not showing up to their regular practices, and their performance is slipping. Sound crazy? Now, let's put the shoes on our sales superstars. I recently had an enlightening conversation with Denny Ward. He often brings up sales fundamentals with advanced sellers, only to hear "Yeah, we know." But the real question is -if they know, why aren't they doing it? Countless times, I've witnessed sales calls where the account executive fails to confirm the prospect's purpose and expectations for the call. Inevitably, they're stopped short 5-7 minutes in, blindsided by a prospect saying, "that's not what I wanted to discuss. This isn't advanced strategy; this is Sales 101. So, let's bring it back to basics. Let's ask the right questions, set the right expectations, and above all, let's listen. Because if we're not mastering the sales fundamentals, we're not playing to win. #salesskills. #salestraining
A world-class athlete never skips a day of fundamental practice. Sounds essential, right? Then why do advanced sellers skip the fundamentals in sales? https://wix.to/T02gE5F #salesskills #salestraining

Simple doesn’t always mean easy. Take making sales calls—it sounds simple, but when you add in constant rejection and the challenge of hitting 75-150+ calls daily, it’s a lot tougher. The same is true in sports, relationships, and nearly every area of life. Nothing worth having comes easy. Success often comes down to the ability to consistently show up; that’s where the line is drawn between good and great. I am an OK golfer, I used to be better but took a long hiatus from it until recently. For those in the sales and BD world, and the business world in general, how important do you feel golf is? For me those 4 hours allows face to face time which you wouldn't normally get in a typical business setting. Why am I posting this? Well it is me justifying leaving early today to go play golf with a client 😀 Of course it is important to always let the client win...... What other sports or activities do you feel benefits you in the business world outside the office? #sales #businessdevelopment

Sales professionals can learn a lot from athletes...Jalen Brunson's from the New York Knicks statement after losing game seven really resonated with me (even as a Celtics fan): "I go into the summer every year looking back on how I could be better as a player, to be the most complete player I can be...The most important thing that I need to do is to continue to just strive for perfection, just strive for perfection, and knowing that I'm never going to get there." As a sales person, whether you are just starting your career, you lead a huge team, and everything in between, the message here is simple: you are never done developing and if you want to be #elite you have to keep working to get better. You will never be perfect but you can chase perfection and get better every. single. day. Things you can focus on getting better at: -discovery -follow up -mirroring/labeling -negotiating -presentations -researching -writing .... #development #hardwork #practice #masterofthecraft #getgoodatgettinggreat
